A disappointing introduction to classic cottages. We are very unlikely to book with you again.

We're so sorry that the property didn't quite hit the mark for you. We know that you've spoken directly with our team on the Island to discuss your thoughts, and we're pleased that you were able to accept a gesture in light of your disappointment. Classic Cottages

We loved the remote location along a bridle path with no neighbours.
The gardens are vast and a haven for birds. We would have liked to have been there when the fruit trees ripen!
The layout of the cottage is perfect for two independent couples because the main bedroom with ensuite is at the opposite end to the other bedrooms. The two separate living spaces, one more formal with TV and the other informal and off the kitchen, ensured that there was more than able room for us to be together or apart.
Would definitely return!

A lovely cottage just the bridleway lets it’s down at this time of year.

Thanks so much for reviewing Keepers Cottage and we're so pleased you had a lovely time overall. The cottage is located down a narrow unmade road as noted in the description and we do appreciate that these lanes can deteriorate over time so we'll certainly forward your comments to the owner for their attention. A lovely, very well equipped cottage, we would definitely return to it.The location seems remote yet it is so easy to get about.
Mrs Beet August 2019
A delightful, well-equipped and comfortable family home which made it a pleasure to spend some holiday time in.
Mrs Harper August 2019
The cottage was great for all ages - comfortable & homely, it was lovely to chill out & look at the wildlife in the garden and basically just to do nothing! One day we just stayed at the cottage & went for a nice long walk then came back and relaxed while my daughter & family went to the beach for the day! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Our second stay as an extended family. A perfect place to get away from the noise and turmoil of everyday life. Helps one to understand just how much noise and light pollution there is elsewhere in the UK. With the family photos around it gives you the feel of a loved and looked after family home. Love it!
Mr Leach July 2019
Keepers Cottage is the ideal stay for those looking for peace and tranquility surrounded by wonderful scenery and wildlife. We loved the garden and especially enjoyed the red squirrel that visited us. The main living area is ideal for making the most of the view, the garden and a comfortable place to relax. The cottage is in a great location on the island with so many lovely places nearby to visit and enjoy. I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to again in the future.
Mrs Aplin June 2019
The journey to the cottage along the bridle way was worth the careful driving to arrive at this lovely property. Our two year old grand son always waited in anticipation as we went by the sign to Knights Farm , a reminder to him of one of his favourite story books, ‘Room on the Broom’ ! The cottage was perfect in every way. I don’t think we have ever stayed in any other classic property which felt so much like being at home. We thought that the cottage offered the perfect combination, a haven of peace and comfort with no distance to travel to any number of places.
Mrs Monk April 2019
The property is gorgeous and in an idyllic location surrounded by countryside and wildlife and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be re-booking next year. However the access to the property is by an unmade up bridleway, the first part of this is fairly easy to negotiate however nearer to the property there are many large potholes. Our family have large SUVs but it would be difficult to negotiate in a smaller car especially in wet weather and some would not want to do so. Additionally the stairs in the old part of the cottage are steep with small treads and in the new extension the stairs are open sided with no handrail. The property may therefore not be suitable for those with mobility issues and the new stairs especially could be a safety hazard. Those with young children should be warned that there is no stair gate, fortunately we took one with us.

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Keepers Cottage and that you liked its beautiful countryside setting. The cottage is set down a long narrow unmade track, as mentioned in the description, but we're sorry if you found some potholes in places and we'll certainly forward your findings for the owners' attention along with your suggestion to provide stair gates. We will also ask our Property Manager to consider adding some photos of the stairs to our website. We do look forward to welcoming you back again next year. Alison, Customer Support

Perfect location, especially with 3 noisy and active grandchildren. Lovely views , 360 degree night sky. local dairy and farm shop a big hit with everyone. The Hare & Hounds looked after our needs brilliantly. Would book again.
Mr Shaw August 2018
Keepers Cottage is an amazing place for a family holiday, plenty of space in the secure grounds for children to play, lots of room to cook and prepare meals for 7. The cottage still felt spacious even when filled to maximum capacity. We didnt want to leave, will definately be booking to re visit in the future, Thank you Keepers Cottage for some amazing memories.
