Compton Bay is dog friendly on one half of the beach which is sign posted.
Coastal footpath where you can walk into Freshwater or even as far as Alum Bay for the keener hikers.
Compton Bay has something for all ages, you can hunt for fossils from the dinosaur era, or catch a wave on a surfboard.
Spend the morning walking along the clifftop walking trails and your afternoon on the beach.

This cottage offers a great location and lots of accommodation space and the kitchen is very well equipped. However the very poor level of cleanliness in the kitchen in particular and generally throughout the cottage (dust and cobwebs) completely spoiled our holiday and really lets the cottage down. Issues of poor cleanliness were previously raised in 2018 and 2020. In addition, there were a number of minor maintenance issues (e.g the shower door would not close properly and the door knob on the bedroom was broken) that should have been addressed prior to our arrival. The combination of these issues was very disappointing and really spoiled the holiday. Classic Cottages claim they carry out regular inspections and that they keep checking to ensure everything is above and beyond expectations. Classic Cottages stated that they cannot inspect all the cottages and we were offered financial compensation for our experience. I would have preferred a clean and hygienic cottage especially again the backdrop of Covid....

We're so sorry that you had cause to contact us about the cleanliness but we're pleased that we were able to agree on a suitable resolution for the elements you found. We understand how important cleanliness is and any concerns raised are always fully investigated. We continuously monitor standards via our questionnaire system and guest feedback, and always inspect every property at least annually but sadly it's not possible for us to visit on on every changeover. Your points have been shared with the owner so that he can look at them alongside the usual end of season maintenance. An absolutely fantastic location for a complete break from it all. Views are magnificent, the dogs loved the garden. The nearby pub The Sun Inn was lovely and the food was excellent. There are lots of walks close by and you are not far from a range of attractions. We loved it....

This location is perfect. We love the walk to the beach, where we hunt for fossils. We have stayed here a few times now and we feel that this is the best location on the island! The house is a bit on the old-side can do with modernising, but regardless we love it there....
