We had a wonderful holiday in a stunning house & location. We hope to return soon.

A magical place to stay with views to die for day and night, it's a quiet location as Cornwall goes, but you are in close proximity to some great places to visit making it a perfect location for families and couples alike. The people looking after the property were also excellent nothing was too much trouble, I cannot praise this place enough.

Amazed by everything that was provided at the house, all that you would need in a kitchen for cooking with. A lovely treat of Cornish cream tea items for us on arrival along with coffee beans for the coffee machine and a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge, totally not expected, but very well received. The whole house was totally spotless with furnished to very high standards. And wow you could spend hours just sitting and taking in the beautiful views. Great location too, not far from everything you need. Can't wait to go back!

Outstanding property for a family looking for quality accommodation close to a sandy beach with good water sport activities.

A very beautiful house with an amazing view. The house is very nice decorated, clean and with all the comfort you need to enjoy holiday. Also a very nice housekeeper. There is also a lot to visit in the neighborhood and a beautiful coast path close to the house.

Second stay at the Rock and once again was the perfect holiday house, with an amazing view in an area with lots to do.
Parking was good and can easily accommodate two vehicles, the house was well equipped with everything you need, well presented and cleaned to a high standard. The addition of a games room with pool table and darts board in the garage was superb and was definitely the best view I’ve had whilst playing the games. The village has everything you need on your doorstep, a couple of good pubs, a good fish and chip restaurant as well as a bakery selling fantastic pasties and cakes. Tesco’s is just down the road in Redruth for supplies and fuel. Some great walks from the house as well as easy to get too more touristy places such as St Mawes, St Ives, Porthleven and Falmouth. Give Perranporth a miss though, not worth a visit when there’s so much else to do. Highly recommend staying here for and will suit just about anyone’s needs.

Views are amazing - photos can’t do them justice. You can’t help but say ‘wow’ as you go into the living area. Didn’t use the outdoor area much as it was November, but it was great just to come back from any trips and chill out on the sofa with the views. Lovely to have small touches such as a supply of beans for the coffee machine, and plentiful kindling and logs for the wood burner. The house was very clean. We would certainly stay at Rock again.

Thanks so much for your fabulous review and for recommending Rock. We'd love to welcome you back again so you can continue to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. Kelsey, Customer Support

Rock is in an outstanding location. Pictures do not do it enough justice. Simply a stunning property with everything you could want for a home away from your own for a holiday! Good local pub and shop/ bakers plus easy and short walk to beach. An amazing spot

The property is amazing, decor is gorgeous. The view is stunning, we were very lucky that 4 nights out of 5 we stayed, we were able to just sit out on the balcony and watch the sun set.

There is everything you need equipment wise there, handy having washing machine and dryers with the kids.

Short walk down the hill to the beach, we would recommend taking a beach trolley as we did just to load up with beach gear, and then easier to pull up the hill on way back.

Good location, shop at end of road along with pub, takeaway and the chippy on the beach is fab.

Location is great - wonderful view - short distances down to the beach, harbour and the South West Coast Path Cozy bedrooms - impressive living room

We loved it, didn't miss a thing and when we're in Cornwall again - this will be our holiday retreat again.

Thanks to everybody involved for an unforgettable stay!

Classic Cottages - an easy way to book from Germany - reliable - fast.

The house was fantastic, in fact the photos didn’t do it justice, it was so much better. The cleanliness was excellent and it felt like home straight away. The Pool table in the garage was a superb bonus and a great surprise..

The walks from the house are well worth doing and the pasty from the bakery at the end of one is worth the pain.

We easily fitted two smallish vehicles on the drive and in front of the house.

Anyone who books will not be disappointed, I can’t wait to rebook in the very near future.

We have stayed in a few properties over the years but Rock really outshone every one of those. The location is perfect and the house itself offers so much. The view when we first walked in completely took our breaths away and it continued to do so throughout our stay. It really is so beautiful. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully equipped from mugs and glasses to a coffee machine. The shower is amazing and the beds are comfortable. The house is located just a short walk to the village and the beach.

The unique position of Rock is magical, you know its something special when you drive up but wait till you enter the first floor living room - you'll be blown away. Not many properties have the wow factor like Rock has

We had a fantastic time in the cottage and have booked again for next year!

Amazing View - you could sit and watch the view - all day.

This was the best holiday house we had ever stayed in - all the family agreed. It was light and airy, beautifully fitted out with everything you would need but still felt like a home.

The views are magical and being Australian, felt like we were back in Sydney!

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wow. The view is the first thing that hits you when you arrive upstairs - it is unparalleled and a real feature of the property. You can enjoy watching the waves and activity on the beach whatever the weather either from the extremely comfortable lounge or the spacious outside terrace. Everything about this property oozes luxury and comfort with thoughtful touches throughout - we especially appreciated the welcome Cornish cream tea, wine and flowers and made good use of the coffee machine, fully stocked with beans, throughout our stay. I would highly recommend Rock to anyone searching for a relaxing holiday really close to a wonderful beach, with magnificent views, at any time of the year!

Excellent, well appointed holiday home set in a fantastic location overlooking Portreath beach and sea. This upside down home, with floor to ceiling windows in the upstairs living area certainly make the most of the stunning views. The two main double ground floor bedrooms also share the same amazing views.

We spent many a happy hour just relaxing, watching the rolling and crashing waves as the tide came into the small harbour and beach immediately below. There are always plenty of surfers, body boarders, paddle boarders, swimmers or kayakers to watch too. Portreath is also well placed to visit places such as Padstow, Newquay, St Ives, Penzance.

Excellent customer service provided by Classic Cottages and the housekeeper, Steph. A spotlessly clean and tidy property. Highly recommended.

Fabulous, well-equipped cottage with amazing views.

Absolutely beautiful property that exceeded our expectations! The views and sunsets are spectacular and the interior furnishings and fittings are fabulous. We would definitely stay at Rock again!

Lovely place for a relaxing, high comfort holiday.

A really clean and well equipped property with a fantastic view. Great balcony to sit out on to watch the sea. Great location

Really great place to stay especially with a discount for under occupation.

Rock cottage is a gem overlooking Portreath beach. Come rain or sunshine it had so much light it didn't matter what the weather did. We were able to park two cars & it has a garage to store wetsuits, golf clubs, body boards etc. Everything was clean with top notch equipment for washing and in the kitchen. If you want a north coast property to rent, then look no further!

As a family we have had a wonderful week staying at the Rock. The location is stunning and the house was a real treat for us all. The Balcony / terrace had a great view across the beach and the memory of looking out to sea and hearing the waves crashing in will stay with me for a lifetime. Portreath itself has a little something for everyone and is very welcoming and friendly village. Overall a family holiday that we will remember for all the right reasons. Thank you

The house is presented to a high standard, very thoughtfully equipped. The owner and housekeeper were very welcoming and considerate. Couldn’t ask for more!

I had anticipated that the brochure/website pictures might make Rock look better than it is but in many respects it far exceeded our expectations. We might well book it up again in the future !

Exceptional holiday home which we would be delighted to return to.

We had a very happy family holiday, loved the views and and comfort of Rock. We would definitely like to go back to Rock again. Also liked all that Portreath had to offer.

Fabulous modern property with amazing views in a good location near to beach, pubs and shops.

We absolutely loved Rock. A beautiful house with immaculate furnishings and the wow factor. Amazing views and brilliant for watching the surf. Fabulous decked area with the perfect sunset view.

We really enjoyed our week at Rock. The house was spotlessly clean with lovely decor and furnishings and lots of little thoughtful touches that make a difference. The view and the sunsets were stunning, either from inside the house or from out on the deck, which is a fabulous sun-trap, even in April! Passers-by can't help but stare in admiringly. In the village there's a great bakery, a shop, a few pubs and eateries (including a Chinese takeaway) and places to hire wet suits/boards and bikes. Lots of great bike rides and walks in the area. A perfect holiday home, we'd love to go back.

We had such a lovely holiday made so much more by the wonderful extras in the home. A coffee machine, full kitchen utensils and appliances, comfy seating and throws, cushions etc. All really made the house a wonderful holiday home. The uninterrupted views are breath taking and everything is literally a 2-5 min walk away. The raised terrace and outside fireplace is just a lovely addition to a beautiful home. The owner and house manager are also very friendly and will do whatever they can to ensure the best time is had. We had the best time celebrating our daughters 1st birthday and the memories and photos we have will stay with us forever.

Wonderful bright and modern house, clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location.

Best cottage we've ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few

Very helpful housekeeper. Sorted travel cot that we had forgotten to pre-arrange.

This property is even more stunning in person that the images already show, rain or shine you will have an amazing break.

We had a fantastic week over new year. The property was beyond expectation. Fabulous views over the bay; so warm and comfortable; great attention to detail which accommodated our mixed party brilliantly. Milena the housekeeper was very friendly. We would definitely think about a return visit.

Treat yourself to this piece of bliss.

The Rock is simply a stunning place to stay. Beautiful modern detached house with amazing views made it an utter pleasure to wake up in each morning. So much glass in the open plan living space meant you could watch the tide come and go from anywhere in the room, including curled up on the huge sofa. Really well equipped and a super relaxing place to stay in. Portreath is well placed to explore Cornwall and after we discovered Godrevy and its seal colony less then 5 miles away (and the great breakfast at Godrevy cafe) it made our holiday. Only minor negative is that the drive/parking area is not well suited to big cars (we'll stay here again but bring the smaller family car next time) but on the plus side it has a garage if you've a shorter car.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Rock, and we're delighted to see that you enjoyed your time in Portreath. As you found, the views are mesmerising! The Owners have arranged for some work to be carried out on the parking space in the next few weeks (the beginning of Dec 2016) to extend the space a little to the left of the house and so give a little extra room - hopefully you will find this helpful if you return in the future.
