This was the best holiday house we had ever stayed in - all the family agreed. It was light and airy, beautifully fitted out with everything you would need but still felt like a home.

The views are magical and being Australian, felt like we were back in Sydney!

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wow. The view is the first thing that hits you when you arrive upstairs - it is unparalleled and a real feature of the property. You can enjoy watching the waves and activity on the beach whatever the weather either from the extremely comfortable lounge or the spacious outside terrace. Everything about this property oozes luxury and comfort with thoughtful touches throughout - we especially appreciated the welcome Cornish cream tea, wine and flowers and made good use of the coffee machine, fully stocked with beans, throughout our stay. I would highly recommend Rock to anyone searching for a relaxing holiday really close to a wonderful beach, with magnificent views, at any time of the year!

Excellent, well appointed holiday home set in a fantastic location overlooking Portreath beach and sea. This upside down home, with floor to ceiling windows in the upstairs living area certainly make the most of the stunning views. The two main double ground floor bedrooms also share the same amazing views.

We spent many a happy hour just relaxing, watching the rolling and crashing waves as the tide came into the small harbour and beach immediately below. There are always plenty of surfers, body boarders, paddle boarders, swimmers or kayakers to watch too. Portreath is also well placed to visit places such as Padstow, Newquay, St Ives, Penzance.

Excellent customer service provided by Classic Cottages and the housekeeper, Steph. A spotlessly clean and tidy property. Highly recommended.

Fabulous, well-equipped cottage with amazing views.

Absolutely beautiful property that exceeded our expectations! The views and sunsets are spectacular and the interior furnishings and fittings are fabulous. We would definitely stay at Rock again!

Lovely place for a relaxing, high comfort holiday.

A really clean and well equipped property with a fantastic view. Great balcony to sit out on to watch the sea. Great location

Really great place to stay especially with a discount for under occupation.

Rock cottage is a gem overlooking Portreath beach. Come rain or sunshine it had so much light it didn't matter what the weather did. We were able to park two cars & it has a garage to store wetsuits, golf clubs, body boards etc. Everything was clean with top notch equipment for washing and in the kitchen. If you want a north coast property to rent, then look no further!

As a family we have had a wonderful week staying at the Rock. The location is stunning and the house was a real treat for us all. The Balcony / terrace had a great view across the beach and the memory of looking out to sea and hearing the waves crashing in will stay with me for a lifetime. Portreath itself has a little something for everyone and is very welcoming and friendly village. Overall a family holiday that we will remember for all the right reasons. Thank you

The house is presented to a high standard, very thoughtfully equipped. The owner and housekeeper were very welcoming and considerate. Couldn’t ask for more!

I had anticipated that the brochure/website pictures might make Rock look better than it is but in many respects it far exceeded our expectations. We might well book it up again in the future !

Exceptional holiday home which we would be delighted to return to.

We had a very happy family holiday, loved the views and and comfort of Rock. We would definitely like to go back to Rock again. Also liked all that Portreath had to offer.

Fabulous modern property with amazing views in a good location near to beach, pubs and shops.

We absolutely loved Rock. A beautiful house with immaculate furnishings and the wow factor. Amazing views and brilliant for watching the surf. Fabulous decked area with the perfect sunset view.

We really enjoyed our week at Rock. The house was spotlessly clean with lovely decor and furnishings and lots of little thoughtful touches that make a difference. The view and the sunsets were stunning, either from inside the house or from out on the deck, which is a fabulous sun-trap, even in April! Passers-by can't help but stare in admiringly. In the village there's a great bakery, a shop, a few pubs and eateries (including a Chinese takeaway) and places to hire wet suits/boards and bikes. Lots of great bike rides and walks in the area. A perfect holiday home, we'd love to go back.

We had such a lovely holiday made so much more by the wonderful extras in the home. A coffee machine, full kitchen utensils and appliances, comfy seating and throws, cushions etc. All really made the house a wonderful holiday home. The uninterrupted views are breath taking and everything is literally a 2-5 min walk away. The raised terrace and outside fireplace is just a lovely addition to a beautiful home. The owner and house manager are also very friendly and will do whatever they can to ensure the best time is had. We had the best time celebrating our daughters 1st birthday and the memories and photos we have will stay with us forever.

Wonderful bright and modern house, clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location.

Best cottage we've ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few

Very helpful housekeeper. Sorted travel cot that we had forgotten to pre-arrange.

This property is even more stunning in person that the images already show, rain or shine you will have an amazing break.

We had a fantastic week over new year. The property was beyond expectation. Fabulous views over the bay; so warm and comfortable; great attention to detail which accommodated our mixed party brilliantly. Milena the housekeeper was very friendly. We would definitely think about a return visit.

Treat yourself to this piece of bliss.

The Rock is simply a stunning place to stay. Beautiful modern detached house with amazing views made it an utter pleasure to wake up in each morning. So much glass in the open plan living space meant you could watch the tide come and go from anywhere in the room, including curled up on the huge sofa. Really well equipped and a super relaxing place to stay in. Portreath is well placed to explore Cornwall and after we discovered Godrevy and its seal colony less then 5 miles away (and the great breakfast at Godrevy cafe) it made our holiday. Only minor negative is that the drive/parking area is not well suited to big cars (we'll stay here again but bring the smaller family car next time) but on the plus side it has a garage if you've a shorter car.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Rock, and we're delighted to see that you enjoyed your time in Portreath. As you found, the views are mesmerising! The Owners have arranged for some work to be carried out on the parking space in the next few weeks (the beginning of Dec 2016) to extend the space a little to the left of the house and so give a little extra room - hopefully you will find this helpful if you return in the future.
