Laurel Cottage
3138St Mawes / Sleeps 6 + cot*

Mrs Proctor October 2021
Fantastic position right opposite the sea. Beautiful views from upstairs in particular- the hedge restricts the views from downstairs. The house could be fantastic, it is in a wonderful position and has tremendous views, however we did feel that it was in need of some updates. We have been advised by Classic Cottages that refurbishment is due to be taking place this winter.

Mrs Greenwood August 2021
Laurel Cottage is fantastically located and photographs beautifully but book with caution. We felt the description of the house and the photos did not quite match up to the reality. We did enjoy our stay but the house is very much in need of investment and TLC. The paving stones in the front garden are loose, the mat at the front door worn down and threadbare, the house was cold and damp when we first entered and smelled of damp throughout, the back kitchen glass roof and back garden were covered in moss and algae - needs a good clean, the towel radiators do not work, the rack for drying clothes was small and rusty and so it took a long time for washing to dry (there is no tumble dryer), many of the sash windows need repair as they don’t open properly, the front door knob is very stiff and has been sited too close to the door frame so you need to be careful not to scrape your knuckles. The bedrooms are also quite small and there is limited wardrobe space so would be a bit of a squeeze for 6 adults. However if you don’t mind any of that and just want a knock about house in a good location then it’s the house for you!

Wonderful holiday in a lovely cottage. Well equipped, super views and within easy walking distance of the centre of St Mawes. Would have given 5 stars if heated towel rails, DVD player and CD player hadn’t been faulty- so small problems that can be easily repaired.

Sorry to hear that the heated towel rail/bathroom heater wasn't working. We've let the housekeeper know and she'll arrange for this to be sorted - we've asked for a shaver adapter to be provided too. Thanks for making us aware and we look forward to welcoming you back again in June. Tanya, Customer Support

Mrs Hender August 2016
Laurel Cottage offers unrivalled access to Tavern Beach and was the perfect place to stay with my family at St. Mawes.
Mrs Holden June 2016
We had the most delightful holiday in St Mawes. Laurel Cottage is so centrally located and proved an ideal choice for my chronic fatigue. The views from both front bedrooms were absolutely stunning and even the lights on the boats of night-time travellers were entertaining. The property had a magical lived in feel to it, made all the more pleasant by the choice of furnishings and contents. The unusual layout of the cottage reflected a number of similarities to our home in Hertfordshire, but with additional characteristics of front and rear terraces and conservatory that made our experience very fulfilling. It proved an inspiring place that enabled me to engage with my limited skills at some sketching and water colouring. Definitely back next year if we can secure a booking, this time for two weeks.
