Miss Ince August 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Gem. Lerryn is beautiful and the cottage itself was the perfect size for us. Everything in the cottage was well-maintained and of good quality, and the cream tea left for us was very thoughtful. A wonderful stay!
Ms Sheehan June 2023
Excellent property. Lovely decor. Very friendly village. Great for self caterers
Mr Kenney June 2023
Lovely cottage, well equipped. Good location in village, very quiet. Plenty of lovely local walks in the area. Close to Fowey and only a short drive to places like Padstow.
Ms Hughes April 2023
The cottage was good and as expected. Lerryn is a lovely village and well placed to visit the surrounding area.
Mrs Owen November 2022
Lovely location in a cosy cottage for 2 fully furnished and equipped for a comfortable stay. Useful local shop selling coffee and pasties along the road. Had a few drinks by the fire in the Ship Inn. Beautiful walks by the river every day in rain and shine. We spent a pleasant morning in Fowey pottering around the shops. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

It's lovely to read that you enjoyed the location (and the pasties!). We are sure that you review will be helpful for future guests at Little Gem and hope that others make the most of the lovely walks by the river - sounds peaceful. Sarah, Customer Support
Mr Howard September 2022
The cottages faces north and a lack of sun, but a good view of the building being converted opposite blocking the river view. Only those of a lesser build will be able to navigate the extremely narrow spiral staircase. A single tiny wardrobe is inadequate for 2 people staying a week although you have to unpack in the downstairs room as there is no way you can get a case upstairs. Freezer compartment on the fridge was frozen solid so don't take frozen food. Comfortable bed and good wifi (when you can find the instructions). Nice and warm. View of the river from the side bedroom window. Good local shop and a lovely village.

Thanks so much for sharing your review of Little Gem. As we say, it is a small but perfectly formed bolthole, and we do try very hard to show the size and style of property in our photos. The spiral staircase is of standard dimension and construction, but we do appreciate that this won't appeal to all guests - we'd recommend checking our description and photos to get a feel for this. The little village is a charming and well-loved residential area, and does include people's homes which have existed for many years so unfortunately we don't have control over renovations or home improvements. We really appreciate you letting us know about the freezer, we'll make sure this is addressed. We're glad you had a great stay overall and enjoyed the lovely surroundings. Tanya, Customer Support
Mrs Bingham June 2022
Had a lovely week in idyllic Lerryn staying at Little Gem. The house is compact but was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend the local pub and general store.
Mrs Puddephatt May 2022
This was our second visit to Little Gem. It is a small cottage, but well kitted out, clean and very comfortable. Lerryn is a pretty village with a tidal river, which sometimes floods! We would recommend a visit to the Ship Inn where they serve excellent meals in a lovely atmosphere. We hope to visit this great area again.
Miss Gaulter-Carter April 2022
We absolutely loved this place! Can't fault it at all. Such a cosy, peaceful escape. Has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved the little seated area at the front of the cottage, where we had breakfast each day. The village shop/cafe is handy too, just along the road and they do brilliant breakfast baps. Lots of little footpaths to explore and we enjoyed running down the trail paths along the other side of the river. Would highly recommend!
Mrs Proyer April 2022
Great place for a mobile couple. Quiet area with plenty of opportunities for walks. Off peak probably best time to go though, as roads around are very narrow. Friendly neighbours and owners of the pub very welcoming.
Weaver February 2022
A great place for exploring this lovely area of Cornwall
Mr Dodds October 2021
Little Gem is a sweet little cottage. We were welcomed with a cream tea!!! Thankyou! But we're from Devon so its cream first! Compact, but with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The spiral stairs were challenging, but we mastered carrying two hot cups of morning coffee up them quite well by the end of the week! The bed was so comfortable that it was a challenge to get out of it in the mornings!! Lerryn is a very quiet, pretty village, with lovely estuary and woodland walks directly from the house. An eye had to be kept on the tides, as the access road was flooded at high tide. It never reached the cottage though. Pity it faces north , though, so not in the sun, but the evening sun did reach the little courtyard at the front, so we were able to sit for one sunny, evening appreciating the lovely view with our glass of wine, even though it was November! We had a meal in the local pub a few yards down the road, next to the shop which was well stocked with tasty treats We had a couple of issues which were dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Mr Organ October 2021
Little gem is a delightful property in a lovely village. It would not suit a large person as the stairs are very narrow and the shower small. The local Ship Inn is a credit to the landlords, a real pub.
Mrs Powell June 2021
Little Gem is a home away from home and beautifully positioned.
Mrs Maclean June 2021
The local pub and shop were both very good . We used both many times during our stay.
Mrs Roberts June 2021
Throughly recommended, clean and comfortable in a perfect location.
Mrs Storey May 2021
This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. We’d read the reviews so didn’t bring suitcases! It was such a comfortable, well equipped cottage that we’d definitely like to return there. Walks from the door much appreciated as well as the friendly village store.
Mrs Crossley May 2021
A lovely cosy, clean property in a beautiful location. Ideal getaway for two. Would love to book again in the future.
Mr Peacey October 2020
nicely renovated little hideaway for 2
Mrs Offley October 2020
Little Gem is a pretty cottage in the beautiful location of Lerryn. Great for kayaking with the tidal river almost on your doorstep! The cottage is small but well equipped. The spiral staircase is narrow and the bathroom is very small, but the bedroom and the ‘studio’ living space are a good size for two people. We really enjoyed our stay.
Mr Scott October 2020
Little Gem is a delightful cottage in a peaceful and tranquil location. It is the ideal retreat for two people in a picturesque Cornish creek-side setting. But be prepared for driving along some very narrow lanes to get there! And don't bring big pieces of luggage; the spiral staircase is quite narrow.
Mrs Puddephatt September 2020
Lovely, comfortable cottage. It is compact, but had everything you would need. Nice touch by the owners leaving us a welcome tray of goodies. Lerryn is a pretty village and has some nice walks surrounding it. We would definitely like to stay again and would recommend it to friends and family.
Mr Hands August 2020
Very good location if you like padding and walking or even relaxing by the Greek/ river, watching the world go by .
Mr Bennett July 2020
A beautiful quiet location.
Mr King July 2020
Lovely little one bedroom cottage with a lovely space outside to enjoy the peace and quiet of Lerryn and if you're lucky enough to have the sun, you'll get the sun all evening. I would 100% stay again and almost don't want to tell my friends about so I can ensure I get it next year!
Ms Parsons July 2020
Great cottage in a beautiful location
Mr Selby July 2020
This is a quaint and well appointed cottage making the most of the limited space, it is comfortable, and has a light and airy feel to it. The lovely position is unusual with the tide reaching some of the road daily that changes the appearance of the area, and adding to the interest of the location. There are level walks directly from the cottage which connects to pretty woodland and to other parts of the village. This is a good place for a quiet stay, it is near to The Eden Project and other attractions, and has an unspoilt atmosphere that has retained it’s uniqueness for an enjoyable stay at any time of year.
Mrs Hudson September 2019
Not likely to return of recommend to anyone - and very unsure whether we would use your website/company again and certainly wouldn't have faith it recommending you to anyone else!!

Mrs Crowe October 2018
A Lovely cottage, clean and cosy in a beautiful setting - it has all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Thank you
Mr Graham January 2018
Incredible location and a superb use of space. The village is delightful with a good shop supplying good basics and fresh bread.
Miss Watson October 2017
I spent a very relaxing week at Little Gem which is exactly what I needed!
Mrs Muscroft October 2017
This property is ideal for two people and really well kitted out. Overall the cottage was delightful but you may find the bed too soft if you have back problems. Future occupants are well advised to pack their belongings into overnight holdalls etc rather than big suitcases. We followed this advice from a previous occupant's comment and were glad we did - big cases would have proven problematic on the spiral staircase. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and look forward to returning.
Mrs Glaisher July 2017
Lovely spot ,peace and quiet!A real escape.
Mr Palmer May 2017
This is a walkers paradise in a peaceful quiet setting close to a good pub with friendly locals.
Mr Bray September 2016
We enjoyed our short break here. The cottage was comfy and well equipped. It is small and the spiral staircase may be a problem for the larger or infirm person. Also don't use a large suitcase! We really liked it though. Lerryn is a very tranquil location, ideal if you want that type of break. beware the tides though as flooding occurs on the high tide and you may need to park a little further away than the car park. We got good advice from the Staff in the Ship. The Ship is the only local place to eat out and it is fine, the staff were particularly friendly. There wasn't a large choice but the quality was good and it is what it is; a country inn that does food ?? A very nice short break, two weeks might be a bit too long for us though as access is down windy lanes and it can get a bit trying at times, of course this comes with the territory, Cornwall has lots of little windy lanes ??. We would definitely recommend little Gem.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Little Gem. We're really pleased that you enjoyed your visit to the lovely village of Lerryn and were delighted that the staff at The Ship had been so friendly. The village shop also sells tide time tables if you're in any doubt as to the high tides. Bryony, Customer Support
Mrs Lonergan June 2016
Good quality equipment and modern fittings. Well equipped and a nice welcome pack of local foody treats. Nice village and very good local shop. Exceptionally small bathroom and spiral staircase so tight that it was not possible to take the suitcase upstairs safely. Parking was a problem near the property as there was great competition for space. The alternative offered was the village car park about 300 yards away but parts of this car park can flood at the highest tides. Also at the higher tides the road from the village to the property flooded, restricting access. Had to be mindful of tides when coming and going.

Thanks for your review of Little Gem, we're glad that you enjoyed your stay. The property is 'small but perfectly formed' (to borrow from our description!) and we appreciate that the spiral staircase is a little trickier to negotiate with luggage than a standard flight of stairs. The river is tidal and on the very highest tides a few times a year, some roads in the area and the village car park can see some flooding for a couple of hours - the lovely village shop sells tide tables and you can always ask a local resident if you need to know the times. Ms Whitehead June 2016
Fabulously quiet and an interesting place to stay. Driving to Boddinick to take the car punt to Fowey was fun. A local recommended we stop at Morrisons supermarket at Liskeard to stock up on the way in. This was excellent advice and meant we could take full advantage of the well equipped kitchen.
Mr Huband May 2016
You should stress the tranquility of Lerryn - a good deal of the time the only perceptible noise was birdsong
Mr O'Connor April 2016
This is a lovely cosy cottage just right for 2. Very well clean and well equiped and done to a very high standard. Lovely fluffy towels and really nice crisp bedding. We thought the wecome pack was a lovely touch and really enjoyed it after a long bank holiday drive down. Thankyou. We also thought it was a really nice touch that the housekeeper rang us on our first day to make sure everything was ok. I loved sitting at the bedroom window with my morning cup of tea looking at the lovely view of the river and woods. Lerryn is a beautiful magical place so peaceful and quiet i really didnt want to leave and wished we could have stayed longer.
