Eeyore's Cottage

7 Nights from £610
Mr Brearley September 2023
This is a lovely cottage in a quiet location but only a mile from Blackpool Sands (though the narrow lanes are a bit of a strain).
Mr Hattersley September 2023
Lovely cottage, well equipped and very well presented. Probably the best mix of “lost wonderfully deep in the countryside” but still easily accessible for both the beach and a bustling local town, that we have ever come across. A very happy and memorable week.
Mrs Reynolds February 2023
Extremely comfortable cottage in peaceful location, close enough drive to Dartmouth for amenities. Thank you for having us. Would recommend.
Mrs O'Connor July 2022
A lovely pretty cottage, great location for walking to Blackpool Sands beach. Parking is right outside the door and is wide enough for passing cars. Nicely decorated throughout with lovely references to Winnie the Pooh! A couple of suggestions would be a replacement bigger wardrobe for the main bedroom and a portable fan as we were blessed with hot weather during our stay and the top bedroom was too hot to stay in. We would certainly consider a return visit to Eeyore’s Cottage!
Mr Lyon June 2022
Amazing cottage, very high standard and beautifully furnished everything provided and more, beds very comfortable. Very good area for exploring the South Hams with beautiful beaches nearby!
Mrs Kelly June 2022
A beautiful cottage with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. It was lovely being so close to Blackpool Sands, and a short drive into Dartmouth.
Mrs Richards June 2022
Cottage is a long way from main road - on a narrow road with a few passing places. I needed to back up a long way on several occasions.
Mrs Smith May 2022
Eeyore's cottage is tastefully decorated and well equipped. It's location is ideal for visiting the surrounding area and attractions. There are plenty of good restaurants, pubs and cafe's in the area but a car is essential and the country lanes need to be negotiated with care. The patio area is peaceful and great for relaxing in the sun. A great place for a holiday and don't forget the Honey.
Mr Van Den Bosch March 2022
Very good location for coastal path walking and access to Blackpool Sands- just be careful of the narrow roads. Stoke Fleming was 15 mins walk away and home to a good restaurant and pub. A good wine shop 5 minutes walk away in a beautiful old house was well worth the visit. Everyone was very friendly.
Mrs Gates January 2022
Wonderful cottage, beautiful and homely inside, great attention to detail. Would have loved to use the garden but a bit chilly in January!! Close to Dartmouth but the lanes approaching the cottage are very narrow. Would definitely come again!!
Ms Vandeputte October 2021
We would definitely recommend this beautiful, comfortable cottage!
Mr Bradford October 2021
Wonderful cottage with everything you would need. Be aware it is down narrow country lanes with passing places and the walk to the pub is steep. Would definitely recommend a stay here though. Great coastal walks with amazing views in this part of Devon.
Ms Smith September 2021
Superb location with a lovely stroll to beautiful beach of Blackpool Sand. This property has everything you require beautiful furnishings of a high quality. Comfortable and very homely. Easy access to beautiful places in the area. We would recommend this property and visit again and again.
Mr Morton June 2021
Eeyore's Cottage was a delight. The owners have created a cottage with some lovely touches which made our stay better than we expected. The garden is an absolute bonus, much bigger than we realised and a genuine sun trap throughout the long summer days.
Mrs Adnitt May 2021
Fabulous cottage in beautiful surroundings. Plenty to see & do with a lovely home to come back to each day.
Ms Waldron April 2021
Lovely cottage in a peaceful, quiet valley. We felt very close to nature, not seen so many primroses and wildflowers in a long time and it was lovely to hear a variety of birds, including a woodpecker. It was nice to be able to sit out in the garden too which had the sun on it for most of the day. Lovely clear skies at night too, great to stargaze, watch satellites and saw the space station. There's a beautiful walk from the cottage to Blackpool sands which we'd strongly recommend. 20 minutes approx. Highly recommend a stay
Mrs Thorne August 2020
Great location
Mr Huckett August 2020
Lovely quirky cottage set in a steep sided valley down some (very) narrow lanes - needs a confident driver. The garden although in a valley has a lovely sunny aspect and great for relaxing in the afternoon and evening. Lovely to walk to be able to walk to the beach. Well equipped kitchen a bonus.
Pine October 2019
This cottage is absolutely beautiful and in an idyllic location. We had awful weather for our stay but it didn’t matter because the cottage was magical and so cosy! Everything we needed was there and the whole house was pristine which is a credit to the owner and housekeeper! We arrived late to the property due to adverse weather conditions but the housekeeper had returned to the property specially for us to ensure the lights were on and it was all ready for us to just come in and decamp! We have 3 girls under 6 and they had such a great time here and we will be back for sure! Thank you for allowing to stay at this wonderful place!
Mr Prince September 2019
Very warm welcome from Richard who was also on hand to sort out WiFi and TV for us. ( although we only watched tv for 15 mins during the entire week......) Not forgetting the excellent cream tea and flowers on arrival. You might just prepare visitors for those narrow Devonian lanes.
Mrs Barnes September 2019
Beautiful cottage, home from home Decor lovely, good location , lovely welcome goodies ,scones, jam and clotted cream, milk in the fridge Highly recommend
Mrs Thorne August 2019
Beautiful cottage and great location
Mrs Purchase July 2019
If you want to get away from it all then a stay in Eeyores Cottage will certainly do that. It is in a beautiful location and only a 15mins walk along a lovely lane to the stunning Blackpool sands beach. The cottage is very charming and has everything you need. The kids loved the Wine The Pooh special touches.
The fresh flowers and milk in the fridge on our arrival was a nice touch. We were certainly be returning next year.
Mr Karukayil May 2019
The cottage is well managed, properly furnished and decorated, Great location to enjoy Dartmouth or the coast. Recommended for family.
Mrs Kimber April 2019
If your looking for a relaxing haven then Eeyores cottage if perfect for you. Beautiful countyside walks on your doorstep and short drives to some of our countries most quaint seaside harbours. Myself and my family will treasure of magical memories of Eeyores cottage and hope to return one day.
Mr Williams January 2019
This cottage is a romantic dream for those looking for the Hundred Acre Wood or just wanting a quiet few days away from it all!
We had a magical time and we would love to return!
Mr Scragg September 2018
Delightful, tastefully and comfortably furnished cottage with an interesting history, in a quiet location but close to amenities and major tourist attractions.
Mr Mutton August 2018
We have had a perfect family holiday in Eeyore's Cottage. Returning home with so many happy memories and so many delightful photos is a testament to the charm of the cottage and the beauty of the area. From the moment we walked into the house, we felt at home. Not only is everything spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable but there are also so many pretty and thoughtful touches in every room: flowers on the table, tasteful ornaments and pictures, a box of snuggly blankets, a huge selection of books and DVDs, beach equipment...and more.
A huge thank-you to the whole team!
Mrs Allanson July 2018
Eeyore's Cottage is a lovely holiday property in a delightful location that is quiet and peaceful but only a 10 minute drive from Dartmouth and all it has to offer. The walk to the beach is idyllic and there are excellent facilities once there. We would recommend this property to our friends.
Mr Howard October 2017
The property was lovely and in a great location. The roads in and out of the property are very tight but that is characteristic of the area and adds to the cosy feel of the cottage and the valley in which it sits.
Miss Morris October 2017
The perfect hideaway for a sunny October break...
If you don't mind driving down the narrow country lanes (which, luckily, I didn't), you will find this little gem of a cottage, tucked under the trees by a small brook, just a 5-minute meander from some of the best beaches that South Hams has to offer.
As a couple, staying in a 3-bed cottage with 3 bathrooms, we each had our own bathroom (which was a nice treat)... The beds were very comfortable (one previous young visitor has described them as 'sleeping on a cloud', which I'd have to agree with!). And the underfloor heating in the kitchen always brought a smile after a long day spent walking the coastal path...
Cleverly equipped, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located for exploring the wonder that is South Hams, Eeyore's Cottage was just perfect for us.
Sarah and Neil, Oxford, October 2017
Mrs Clews July 2017
Eeyore's Cottage is very special. It is immaculately clean and thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and with lots of special touches that make even a rainy day comfortable. We had a wonderful stay there and it set the bar very high for other accommodation in the future.
Mrs Brasher June 2017
Beautiful cottage incredibly comfortable and well equipped would recommend to anyone. Lovely walk down to Blackpool sands beach.
Mrs Jinks June 2017
It's a fabulous cottage in a lovely location. The weather was hot but the cottage was lovely and cool!
Mr Ellis June 2017
Beautiful and well equipped cottage. Quiet location, only a 15 minute walk from the lovely Blackpool Sands beach.
Mrs Kaye May 2017
As above
Mr Larkin December 2016
This was the first Xmas we have been away as a family for a while and ticked all the boxes. The property had been decorated for us including decorations and Xmas crackers etc. Very well provisioned for a family that likes to cook, great walks. Excellent local Pub. Recommendation for future visitors do not follow the SatNav follow main road from Dartmouth. We would definitely consider staying here again.
Mrs Yates October 2016
An absolutely beautiful cottage. Our favourite to date. Very well situated for Dartmouth, Totnes, Salcombe and the coast.
Mrs Partridge September 2016
It is so quiet at night that as a Londoner it hurts your ears. Please do not misunderstand this is not a criticism.
Mrs Gayton September 2016
Lovely quiet spot, walking distance to the beach & short distance to supermarkets, pub.
Good location for all sorts of day trips.
If you've forgotten what it's like to be pleasantly tired and sleep really well then this is the place for you. My 3 year old spent an hour on the journey home demanding we go back to 'his cottage'
Mrs Salter August 2016
Secluded location some distance from pubs, facilities. Not a comfortable cottage for active children. Lack of mobile reception and no land line make it a nerving place should anything happen or if family members need to contact you. Bedrooms have inadequate storage space, nothing at all in children's twin room. Looks like a show home but really not practical for self catering young family.

Thank you for your comments - the property is beautifully situated in rural Devon so perfect for getting away from it all, yet close to lovely family friendly beaches and vibrant Dartmouth just a short drive away. There is an incoming telephone line if family need to get in touch, and WiFi is also provided. Sorry that it didn't suit your particular party, but we hope you enjoyed your trip to Devon. Mr May July 2016
Nice cottage overall if a little dark . It is not 1/3 of a mile from the beach as the sign showing Blackpool sands is 1/2 a mile from the cottage. Good coastal walks and Blackpool sand is very nice. Beware the parking at Blackpool sands starts a £7 a day .

Mr Lucas February 2016
This is a charming cottage in a lovely location - and the Christopher Robin connection makes it a wonderful place to stay.
Mrs Stares December 2015
It was lovely to arrive and find that such a lot of effort had been put in to making the cottage "Christmasy". The little touches ( crackers, wine, biscuits and decorations) were very much appreciated. The cottage was very well appointed and even cooking Christmas dinner in a strange kitchen was easy as there was a good range of kitchenware. The rooms were very comfortable and we loved the decor. We all had a great time and will look back on our first Christmas away with happy memories.
Mr Fisher November 2015
Eeyore's cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, exquisitely furnished and equipped with anything you could possibly need. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the furniture, accessories and fixtures. Everything looked lovely and worked properly. The extra touches of games and books for the children and a good selection of books and DVDs for the adults were much appreciated.
Mrs Russell-Thomas October 2015
Gorgeous property, time for space, to stop and to unwind perfect.
Mr Walker September 2015
Best cottage we have ever stayed in - perfect!
Mr Reid September 2015
Eeyore's Cottage was an absolute delight and lived up to the photographs and expectation. The decoration is beautiful and every detail has been carefully thought out by the owners. I just wish it was my house!
Mrs Clark August 2015
This has been by far the best cottage we have ever stayed at. The decor, layout and contents have been so well thought out it would appeal to young and old alike. If you forget to bring something, be sure to know it will be there waiting for you. The cleanliness was impeccable too. It was just a 20 minute walk to Blackpool Sands beach which was beautiful, although there's no sand sadly as it is a shingle beach, but the views, cafe and shop certainly make up for it. No dogs are allowed so it is spotless. Dartmouth is a short drive which has got a beautiful harbour and the Round Robin trip - boat, bus & steam train is definitely one do to. Agatha Christie's house is a short drive away. All highly recommended. The cottage and location made for a perfect holiday.
Mr Forrester July 2015
A beautifully-appointed cottage in which all of the 'little things' have been thoughtfully considered: less a holiday cottage, more a "home-from-home". Really refreshing to see.
