The Mouse House is beautifully presented and in an absolutely stunning location, with a large garden and unspoilt views for miles.
Inside, the cottage has an open plan ground floor with a single bedroom and shower-room at the far end too. There is one step down into the kitchen/living-room.
The kitchen is built around two walls, and there is plenty of room for the dining-table.

The summer-house is the perfect place to sit with a glass of wine watching the deer come out to graze across the valley.
You will have all that you need for a really relaxing stay here.
Guests are made to feel at home as soon as they arrive.
The living-area has a two-seater sofa, as well as a lovely deep armchair.
Up on the first floor the stairs open out into the dual-aspect main bedroom - more fabulous views from your bed.
The views will take your breath away, whatever the weather.

There's flexibility for two guests, as there is also a single bedroom on the ground floor.

The Mouse House is an absolutely perfect retreat!
The sunny hilltop setting is wonderful for eating al fresco, in complete privacy and with a panaramic countryside view in front of you.
This place is all that a 'break away from it all' is about.
Sitting in the summer-house and watching the deer grazing in early morning/evening, has to be a high point of a stay here.

The setting is in the Devon foothills, close to the Exmoor National Park.
The pathway from your parking-area to the cottage, gives you the perfect taste of this special setting.
The River Exe is at the bottom of the steep valley.
Lyme Regis just over the border into Dorset is a wonderful place for a full day out. It usually takes about an hour to get here from the cottage.
The Exmoor National Park is even closer, approximately a 15 minute drive
The rugged North Devon coast is also just under an hour's drive. For a sandy beach try Instow.
You can be at the East Devon Jurassic coast in just under an hour. This is Sidmouth.

If you like to be off the beaten track, in total peace and quiet and surrounded by stunning natural beauty, then the Mouse House is the perfect place. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this pretty cottage, which had everything required for a comfortable stay. Everything was clean and the bed very comfortable. Lovely to have a bottle of wine and some milk in the fridge on arrival! The summerhouse was a great bonus for relaxing and enjoying the scenery and wildlife – binoculars thoughtfully provided. Just a couple of things to consider. The last mile of approach to the cottage is by a narrow lane with few passing places so you may need reasonable reversing skills, although we only encountered an oncoming vehicle twice during our week’s stay. Also, there is no meaningful wi-fi signal. Wonderful memories of our stay and would definitely recommend. ...

Stunning views, beautiful garden, good privacy, a cosy cottage and very friendly owners. And did we mention the stunning views? The location is truly amazing. Every time we came back to The Mouse House after a day trip, we got instantly happy after the mild stress on the curvy, steep and bumpy roads to get there (no worries, you get used to these roads). We had expected more diversity in walking routes nearby (there are hardly public footpaths around Stoodleigh), but in Devon are many beautiful locations to hike. The Mouse House is a lovely and quiet hideaway to relax and the central location makes it easy to visit al the interesting places Devon has to offer. ...
