We spent a delightful short break at this lovely cottage. It had everything we needed inside but outside - wow - what fabulous views! It’s in a gorgeous location deep in the Devon countryside. The cottage itself is compact but very comfortable and warm, and we really appreciated the cream tea waiting for us on arrival. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it....

This is such a lovely setting for a peaceful get away from it all stay. The bed was so comfortable with deliciously soft sheets. Waking up to the views was a real bonus and the summer house a delight. Highly recommend this place for a quiet and relaxing weekend away. ...

The Mouse House is a gem. Incredibly peaceful, with outstanding views. We were warmly welcomed by Rose and Jon but then left to enjoy total privacy in a stunning Devonshire setting. A pristine wee cottage and summer house, thoughtfully equipped and decorated. We were instantly relaxed and looked forward to returning after each day exploring the countryside. We went on a number of walks from pretty villages up to outstanding view points, and on beautiful river walks and dramatic moor walks too, frequently meeting wild ponies. Jon also suggested a walk from the Tarr Steps, which was one of the prettiest river walks, thank you Jon. This walk starts from a great pub - Tarr Farm Inn. And there really are red deer in the fields opposite the Mouse House. In the evenings, we enjoyed looking at the deer and cows and watching the house martins dancing and playing in the sky around the cottage and into the valley. There is an excellent pair of binoculars available for use in the cottage. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful holiday retreat. We highly recommend it....
