I highly recommend this property, the location, the cottage, the facilities and cleanliness were exceptional. Terry and Gillian were so friendly and helpful.

Mr Lyth August 2025

The cottage is beautiful inside and outside. The hosts Gill and Terry were very friendly and welcoming. It's the best cottage that we have stayed in the last 10 years of holidaying in Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

Mrs Townley May 2025

We have had a wonderful week in our 4th visit here. It was lovely catching up with Gill and Terry again and their delicious homemade treats are always very welcome! If you want to rest, relax and unwind then Mount Pleasant Lodge is the perfect place to do so....

Mrs Sibley April 2025

We needed a cottage on one floor with an accessible shower and the website search found us Mount Pleasant. There are a few steps between the kitchen and the rest of the cottage but there is a slope outside that leads in the living room patio door so it was not a problem. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the cottage well-equipped and immaculately clean. A good kitchen to cook in but no need as nearby we found the lovely Heron Farm for brunch/lunch, and a bit further afield River Cottage for lunch and The Pig at Combe for lunch/tea and cake. For days out the Tramway and wetlands at Seaton were lovely, as was the donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth, Killerton National Trust and the NT village of Branscombe. Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are also lovely to mooch around. We needed to be able to book the use of Tramper mobility scooters for our days out and we found plenty of places with this facility in the surrounding area. In all a perfect holiday cottage for anyone with access needs. ...

Mr May April 2025

A haven of peace and tranquility set in magnificent grounds, Mount Pleasant Lodge lacks for nothing and richly deserves its five star status. No wonder so many guests make repeat visits. More than merely a convenient base from which to explore this delightful part of Devon, the lodge was one of the highlights of our holiday and we recommend it without reservation. Warm, welcoming and thoughtfully discreet (but on hand if you need them), Terry and Gill are the very best of hosts whose attention to detail and ‘no expense spared’ dedication to their guests’ comfort is unparalleled. Easing ourselves into those recliner chairs after a hard day’s sightseeing was such a treat and we slept so well in the master bedroom we asked them for the name of the manufacturer of the mattress. Thank you Terry and Gill. We hope to return in the not too distant future. And not only for that delicious homemade bread, lemon drizzle and marmalade! ...
