Mrs Mathews February 2023

We had a few days stay at the beginning of March when the camellias and daffodils were in bloom and it was lovely. Cottage is very cosy and warm and as described so we were very pleased. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay and even the little electric effect log burner was a very welcome addition on an evening to ‘cosy up’ the lounge even more. The welcome pack cream tea was delicious and very much enjoyed ?? as were the vases of fresh daffodils. Such a lovely personal touch. We did not want for a thing. From the cottage there is a quiet walk along a lane with a sea view either to a cove or through some very pretty woods. I imagine the bluebells must be stunning when in bloom. On a personal note - take the torch ?? (supplied in kitchen) if venturing out at night to star gaze with your four legged friend because the darkness is complete! But Penzance minor injuries unit if required are amazing!!! Apart from a sprained ankle we had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. ...

Perfect location if you want to get completely away from things. Pretty little cottage within walking distance of the Minack Theatre (2 hours along the coastal path). Excellent and reasonably priced taxi companies to get back afterwards too. Stunning beaches nearby but also lots of galleries, gardens and cultural things to do. My favourites were the open topped bus (Lands Ender) circular route from Penzance, Marazion for St Michael’s Mount, Levant mines near St Just and a visit to St Ives. Sloping ceilings in the bedroom so just be aware if you are tall....

A beautifully located property in a partly wooded area with good parking . Easy access to the coast and local footpaths for keen walkers. No light pollution at night and very quiet. Really well resourced as regards to cooking at home and relaxing indoors. Good WIFI. Bedroom has a low ceiling and care must be taken with the stairs as they are awkward. Bugs (flies, snails and spiders) are frequent visitors but all harmless. ...

We loved our time here in this quiet, lovely location with just the sounds of birdsong for company. Maggie and Tim made sure our stay was comfortable

A lovely cosy, cute and quiet cottage in a great location. The owners are wonderfully friendly and very helpful. (Very much appreciated the cream tea and all the fresh flowers!) Mobile reception actually in the cottage is non-existent but that's Cornwall for you. The WiFi however is excellent so more than makes up for the lack of mobile signal. Yes the bedroom ceiling can be a nuisance but you get used to it. The driveway to the cottage is perhaps a little bumpy in places but more importantly the public roads to the cottage are good, mostly wide enough for 2 cars both coming from Penzance or continuing south towards Lands End; which can be quite unusual in Cornwall with a property so close to the coast and hugely important if you're doing it in high season! The little walk down the lane to the coast path is beautiful and the walks along the coast in both directions are fabulous. We walked one day to Mousehole and back and another day to Minack Theatre and back. Both amazing. Also recommend the short drive to Sennen Cove and from there a walk to Lands End onto Nanjizal Beach and back again. We fell in love with Nanjizal Beach, especially at low tide! The iconic Botallack mines perched right on the cliffs are worth a visit as is St Ives especially if you park on the moor outside (Rosewall Hill Car Park) and walk in!! Such a beautiful part of Cornwall and a lovely cottage to come back to at the end of each day. ...
