The main bedroom has a king-size bed.
Bedroom 2 has a characterful sloping ceiling - and therefore a slightly lower than standard, 4ft 6' double bed.
The ground floor cloakroom is very spacious.
The bathroom has a large shower cubicle.
The perfect place to relax at the end of a day exploring Dorset.
The Old School Gables is attached but completely separate from The Old School House and has plentiful private parking and a sheltered patio space.
The popular pub is next door to the cottage, serving traditional pub food. You are advised to book for weekend meals.
Low tide in Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast, with a view of Golden Cap in the distance - the Dorset coast's highest point. Have a great day out with breathtaking walks and a spot of fossil hunting!
The rolling hills of Dorset, with the iconic Colmer's Hill in the distance. A wonderful area for walking and hiding in some cosy, welcoming pubs.

River Cottage HQ is not far - treat yourselves to a visit there and enjoy the unique dining experience.
Just a few miles away you will find Lambert's Castle (national Trust), with it's lovely walks and views of the Jurassic Coast.
This beautiful cottage was the home of the Dorset novelist, Thomas Hardy and is one of a number of places to visit near Dorchester, that are connected to the author.
Dorset and Somerset have miles and miles of spectacular, undulating hills and country walks.

We had a fantastic stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable, had a well-equipped kitchen, and had everything we needed. The location was also lovely and quiet and not too far from Charmouth, Bridport, and Lyme Regis. I was especially impressed by the comfortable beds and pillows; we all slept very well. The owners were friendly and helpful, especially with fishing the table umbrella out of the hedge when it was blown away by the wind! Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a great stay!...

We found this property to be a great base from which to travel south, east, north and west! It's near to Crewkerne that provides all the necessary shops..... sizable Waitrose and Lidl, Boots and many others. The frontage is a great place to soak up the sun and provides ample parking for a couple of vehicles. I have to self-cater and found all the appliances worked perfectly and there was plenty of hot water. The owners were very nice people and supplied some basics such as milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper and a very unexpected treat of a bottle of wine....many thanks!...

We had a lovely Christmas week at the Old School Gables. It is a well thought-out annexe to the Old School itself offering complete seclusion and home-from-home comfort. Our hosts had gone to great lengths to make the cottage feel suitably festive and, although reassuringly close by had we needed them, left us to enjoy our Christmas hideaway without intrusion. The local pub is literally next door and offered a warm welcome and hearty food & drink without any noise disturbance on the evenings that we stayed at home. Drimpton is a quiet Dorset village close to the borders of Somerset and Devon that is surrounded by beautiful countryside offering easy access to local walks. Many local attractions are a short drive away including the seaside resorts of Lyme Regis and West Bay. Highly recommended....
