Cosy, comfortable, warm, clean and well equipped. Ideal really

Property lovely clean and comfortable everything you need in the kitchen . The history of the school is really interesting. We enjoyed our stay ,with Lyme Rigis and the town of Bridport a short drive away ,westbay next to Bridport is a must to visit with long beautiful beaches and a lovely harbour to wander round .

A lovely cottage and ideal location. Highly recommended.

Spacious, comfortable, well equipped cottage in a quiet, rural location within easy reach of the coast. We had a very pleasant and relaxing holiday.

Friendly owners gave us advice on quiet local beaches to take our son. Fully equipped and clean. Situated in an ideal locatione for visiting Bournemouth, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Torquay. Would definitely recommend

Great cottage and location. Good pub next door the Royal Oak. Very quiet. Good comfortable rooms just like being at home

A very enjoyable few days at The Old School Gables and very well situated for visiting the coast or countryside. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

the cottage was very clean, warm & comfortable, ideally situated for local footpaths and easy distance of the coast . Excellent stay, we will hopefully return for a longer visit.

It's wonderful to read that you enjoyed exploring the paths - it is in a lovely spot. We so look forward to welcoming you back for a longer visit so that you can continue your explorations. Sarah, Customer Support

We can recommend the cottage for seeing Dorset area and coast, Bridport was worth a visit to the Saturday market and explore this lovely coastal town.

Very comfortable with all mod cons. Ideal location to explore coastal and inland attractions. Ate twice in the Royal Oak nextdoor, excellent menu and good service.

The property was well written prepared and the hosts had left us some basic ingredients including a bottle of wine and some milk. We used as a great base to get off down to the coast to Bridport and Lyme Regis and found a little village of Drimpton very quaint and handy for dog walking

The property owners live next door and came round to check that everything was in order and to see if we needed anything.

Kettle and frying pans needed replacing- new remote for TV and either replace vacuum cleaner or filters. Distances to locations (beach, shop and garage) may have been as the crew flies but certainly not the correct distance by car.The local farmers do their best to discourage walkers from using the footpaths either blocked or not marked.

Would thoroughly recommend this cottage - week equipped, great location for exploring Dorset, beautifully clean and comfortable. Made a great break in these difficult times.

Lovely cosy cottage, highly recommended!

We had a very enjoyable week at The Old School Gables. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It also made a very good base for visiting lots of interesting places in the area. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant week staying at The Old School Gables. It was comfortable, very clean and we settled in immediately. Lots of interesting places to visit and beautiful countryside all around. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. A car is a necessity here.

My family and I had very pleasant stay at the old school gables in very quaint little village within great driving distance to many beaches and places of interest in Dorset and Jurassic coast. We had wonderful week away and am very happy to give 5 stars to the property.

Had a wonderful time at The Old School Gables - the hosts had thought of everything and really cannot recommend enough!

The cottage has a real home comfort feel about it and that feeling you could only experience on opening the front door :) Would definitely book again x

Excellent accommodation in lovely rural surroundings but not too far from the coast. It is certainly one to recommend and we look forward to staying again in the future.

The location is great for exploring the whole of Dorset and southeast Devon. There are a host of great places to eat within 30 minutes, one next door. Of the many cottages we have stayed in over the years this is by far the most likely to see us make a return visit.

The cottage was ready for us and was a lovely place to stay and relax.

Great location to exploring Dorset from. Central to all of the major attractions. Clean and quiet location. The Property owners have done, and do a good job maintaining and cleaning this place.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a really nice part of the country. It is in a quiet village so a car will be needed.

We've visited "The Old School Gables" a number of times & really enjoyed our latest stay

Good value cottage. Great location and well equipped. Lovely and clean.Fantastic that we could bring the dog and he lived the playground! Would definitely like to return again.

We thought the Old School Gables and owners were really excellent - the Gables were spotlessly clean, well thought out and equipped, warm, comfortable and we will most likely be returning sometime. The owners were very welcoming us and our dogs, and even looked after the dogs (and took them to the pub!) when we went out to a show. So, and all round perfect weekend away! Highly recommended.

A perfect setting enhanced by quite exceptionally charming and generous hosts who go way beyond anything one could expect of them to make one's stay a positive joy. Nicer and more welcoming hosts would be very hard to find. We highly recommend this cottage!

It was very clean. There was nothing more to wish for

Great location if you're looking for countryside but also perfect to go exploring. clean and comfortable cottage. Highly recommend.

We had a brilliant week staying here, really clean and instantly felt like home, couldn't recommend staying here more!

A wonderful cottage. Everything one could wish for provided, including fun games for the old school playground outside your front door. Very clean and modern, warm and comfortable. Highly recommended!

This is a very comfortable Old School House with lots of local information provided, and historical photos etc of when it was a school house. There is a secure yard for young families and outdoor play equipment. The pub practically next door serves excellent meals and the locals are welcoming. We would definitely recommend this accommodation. Wonderful walk-in shower as well! A home from home and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent in all aspects.

Thank you for a great stay xx

very nice cottage, with everything you could wish for.

lovely cottage beautifully furnished, lovely comfortable beds.Spotlessly clean. Lovely well equipped kitchen.

A really lovely cottage.

Super clean

Some welcome touches include milk and wine in the fridge on arrival.

Much to explore and fossil hunting in Charmouth was great fun.

Highly recommended and enjoyed by our small family.

Our return trip to The Old School Gables provided us with the relaxing holiday we were looking for - couldn't have asked for more.

Well appointed, clean and comfortable, situated in a nice quiet village with busy yet quiet contry pub in close walking distance...recommended.

Limited headroom in bedrooms in places but added to the interest of the building and its conversion from a village school. A very pleasant area and would certainly recommend.

It is impossible to be critical about this property, it is just perfect. Clean, warm, well equipped. Well located for walking, sightseeing and shopping. Excellent.

Cosy place, excellent for our little trio.

A great place for stay in West Dorset.

We had a really enjoyable holiday in this part of Dorset. After a great day out it was a pleasure to return 'home' to The Old School Gables. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Lovely peaceful location. Very limited mobile signal but that turned out to be a good thing! No-one from work could call and disturb our peace. Very clean. The kitchen was so well equipped. Excellent location for visiting tourist attractions in Dorset.

Really nice location with easy access to both country and seaside

Very well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. Ideal for a family with small children.

Fab!

Peaceful location in a beautiful part of the country.

The Old School Gables is a gem - you won't be disappointed. I miss it so much!

really enjoyed our stay here ,very quiet cottage, perfect for a holiday ,only a short journey to the coast

A lovely place to stay, we thought it was excellent all round.

Wonderfully secluded and quiet, not a sound to be heard but the birds. Would like to visit again.

We were spot on with our choice. The pub next door was excellent for food & great people too. If you need to use your mobile phone a lot then this village is not for you....no reception anywhere. The WiFi signal tripped out & we worked out that if we took our devices to the bathrooms then we got reconnected, so not really a problem in the long run. We would love to go back there as it is a good base & the cottage was perfect.

What a marvelous place to stay for a holiday. Immaculately presented and most comfortable. More things in kitchen to cook and prepare food in than any other Classic Cottage we have stayed in. Bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival and the 'Headmaster' and 'Headmistress' could not have been kinder!

The location was near some friends. Of the cottages in the area this seemed to look the nicest and have the level of accommodation we required. No obvious problems

Old School Gables is the best equipped cottage I have ever stayed in. Classic Cottage properties are always clean and well cared for, which is why I only choose them when I go on holiday, but this property had everything you would wish for in a holiday cottage and more besides. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable country break.

I would re book, main thing was it was so clean. Everything well equipped, bedding etc spotless. Bedroom 2 bit snug for 2 adults but if you know this don't let it put you off.
