Portreath is only a few minutes' drive from the cottage. Such a lovely beach.
Perranporth beach, is a little further up the coast.
Porthtowan beach is also just a short drive from Kernel's Barn.
The secure bike store is very handy if you want to bring your own bikes with you, alternatively you can hire from the centre next door.

An outstanding cottage, really comfortable and furnished to a really high standard. The kitchen had everything you could need if you are keen on cooking. The cottage is absolutely immaculately clean. The location is perfect for a really quiet couple of weeks in Cornwall - with easy access to great cycle routes (+ bike hire if needed), great beaches and all the cream teas you can eat....

I would happily recommend Kernel's Barn as a peaceful retreat which is tucked away up country lanes, but close enough to beaches and the A30 to be within striking distance of many of Cornwall's attractions. It is a very well equipped and comfortable property. We particularly liked the wood-burning stove (once we had got the hang of it!), and although it is situated fairly close to the owner's property, we were never really felt as though we were intruding. There's a variety of friendly farm animals to be encountered, so would be ideal for families with younger children. The owners are very helpful and welcoming and are always ready to give advice on local attractions, good places to eat, etc. On the whole, a pleasant place to stay if you want to relax and unwind, or alternatively, to use as a base for cycling, walking or surfing....

Kernel's barn is the most perfect holiday cottage, close to two surf beaches. The owners are very helpful and the animals are great. Be prepared to get loved by Lucy the loveliest Rottweiler

Kernels Barn is a fabulous barn conversion transformed by the owners Collin and Sally. We had a very comfortable stay and were welcomed by the best cream tea. We are keen walkers and the location was perfect to travel to the north coast daily and walk the coastal path. ...

The Cottage was just what was required. The owners were very helpful and friendly as were the two dogs particularly Lucy.
