Portreath is only a few minutes' drive from the cottage. Such a lovely beach.
Perranporth beach, is a little further up the coast.
Porthtowan beach is also just a short drive from Kernel's Barn.
The secure bike store is very handy if you want to bring your own bikes with you, alternatively you can hire from the centre next door.

A lovely cottage that is spotless, well furnished and in an ideal location for exploring this part of Cornwall. A very warm welcome from the owners and a scrumptious Cream Tea left in the fridge to get our holiday off to a good start. Highly recommend this cottage for those who like a nice quiet location to stay while exploring the surrounding area....

Kernel's Barn certainly provided us with the perfect base for the continuation of my South West Coastal Path charity walk. We chose this holiday cottage for its proximity to the path and we were not disappointed, as the sections we were walking on the North Coast were often just a 5 minute drive away! Much to our delight we also found this cottage really well equipped and comfortable making our stay very enjoyable. The WIFI had a good signal so we had no problems carrying out necessary admin tasks relating to our lengthy stays away from home. Whilst staying here it was wonderful to pass through Chapel Porth beach and once again enjoy a delicious iced hedgehog which tasted as good as I remember it! Had we had any spare time we would have enjoyed using the lovely sunny garden space thoughtfully provided by Sally and Colin for their guests. Additionally, we would not have been able to resist using the coast to coast cycle trail, which is mostly off road and passing yards from the lane and Kernel's Barn, is a trail that we have enjoyed on several occasions previously!! ...
