The Shieling is bright, with a lovely garden and in a beautiful, peaceful location in Golant. We spent many happy days on Lantic Beach and Polridmouth Cove and there are nice local walks as well as the coast path not too far away. There was a lovely welcome basket and the property was spotlessly clean and we found the beds all very comfortable. The house could do with some updating with some of the rooms looking tired and dated. It also missed some of the touches we’d enjoyed and come to expect in Classic Cottages properties - a good welcome pack of recommended places to visit, DVDs or on demand TV / games etc....

It's obviously a very popular property which has had some busy seasons over the years but we do work closely with owners to try to ensure that reinvestment and refreshing happens regularly and we will pass on your feedback to them for their consideration. Due to the current situation with Covid some of our owners are not currently leaving a cottage information folder along with DVDs etc but hopefully this will change with things slowly becoming more relaxed. Well equipped property in a lovely village. Pub was great. There is also a lovely cafe at the water sports centre. The weather was fantastic too! The property could do with some general updating though.

This is a very comfortable house, with a peaceful garden. It is very well equiped. We had a relaxing time. we especially appreciated the beautiful environment, after being in lockdown for so long.

This is a truly lovely cottage which is much more spacious than the pictures suggest. The garden surrounding the house with lots of different seating areas is really nice and means you can catch the sun anywhere! The cottage is very well equipped and feels very homely and it was also extremely clean on arrival. The COVID preparations and instructions were good. Fantastic too to be able to walk down to the river and the wonderful pub where we were made very welcome and had really delicious pub grub (salmon fishcakes to die for!). There are so many places to visit in the area, including The Lost Gardens of Helegan, Lanhydrock House and gardens, The Eden project and lots of lovely coastal villages. We went on walks from the house and particularly memorable Is the Hall walk from Fowey taking in Bodinnick and Polruan and taking the ferries. As another reviewer suggested, when leaving the property to go out, reverse out of the drive uphill and go down to the bottom to turn round! It is a narrow lane with passing places! We would highly recommend The Sheiling for a relaxing break. ...
