Reported to housekeeper the morning after our arrival that the shower was not draining properly and we were unable to take consecutive showers as we had to wait for water to dissipate. We also reported that there was no light on the cooker extractor and there was a lack of suitable lighting in the kitchen, forcing us to use a torch near the cooker, so it was very unsafe whilst using the cooker. We also reported that the bin in the kitchen was broken. The standard of cleanliness in the kitchen was very poor, with a very strong unpleasant smell, particularly around the cooker. The towels in the bathroom were very shabby and every time we used them they moulted. The linen on double bed was wrinkled and very uninviting. Despite the Housekeeper saying that she would get a plumber and electrician, we never heard anything further from her. All together a most unsatisfactory property. ...

Well positioned cottage for walking to the beach and coastal paths. Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. A good stores in the village providing freshly baked pastries and pasties. Good pubs providing good food too.

Lovely thatched cottage in a super location just yards away from two pubs, a pizza restaurant and local shops. Very warm and cosy. The parking space was most welcome as parking is difficult in the village. We will certainly be returning to this cottage....

The Hermitage is the perfect location for a stay in Crantock and is well appointed for long days on the beach, plenty of space for all your beach stuff and easy access to the village shop and pubs/restaurants. Be careful if you are 1.80 metres or taller! The beamed ceilings are very low.
