Mr Norwood August 2025

We absolutely loved this treehouse, and it made our mini-moon! This is a must visit if you're after a full get away from everything and enjoy the outdoors! Beautiful location and having everything upcycled is such a nice touch that you just don't see anymore - great work!! We got a little stung by the weather and couldn't really use the deck and swing chair as much as we wanted to, but that just added to the charm of being able to have coffee in bed looking out into the trees. The outdoor bath is an experience to say the least! Especially in the darkness of night! But we absolutely loved it regardless! The only thing I would note is the 'slope' to get to the treehouse is pretty steep, and is just a dirt track. So don't do what we did and turn up in flip flops, and make sure your bags are light enough to be able to carry down - not drag on wheels! Definitely shouldn't put anyone off going though!...

Mr Whiteside July 2025

Booked as a few days of respite following some camping in the Lake District which ended up in some unbelievably hot weather. We arrived to a nice clean place, a couple of chocolates and cheeky wee bottle of wine which was a lovely touch! The shade from the trees helped the treehouse stay a reasonable temperature and eventually when the rain came in (what a relief), it was so cosy hearing the patter on the roof with a cuppa. We had everything we needed to cook a nice meal, although consider picking up groceries on the way to the treehouse as there's a bit of driving on the country roads to get to a shop, although I can't say where the nearest shop actually is, sorry! We didn't make use of the outdoor shower/bath, but the indoor shower was very nice - easy to use with good pressure and temperature control. If you look around the treehouse, you can find all the switches for the exterior lightning and it was nice to adjust it as the day/night went on to keep the cosy feeling. We didn't look too hard, but it didn't look like there were many long walks nearby. There is a lovely landscaped area you look out on to if you want a stroll amongst the trees. We had done plenty of walking on holiday already, so the short stroll after dinner was a nice length for us. Overall, we would definitely book again if we were looking for a quiet getaway slow down for a bit! ...

Miss Willett November 2025

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tawny Owl Treehouse. It’s lovely and cosy, with a fire-style electric heater that adds a really nice touch. The view in the morning is beautiful, and waking up to the sound of the birds was so peaceful. The indoor bathroom is spotless and beautifully done. The outdoor bath was a lovely addition too; just be mindful with the hot water, as it runs out fairly quickly and the water cools down fast outside, so don’t add too much cold! The outdoor shower was another great touch that made the stay feel special. We didn’t read the welcome binder until the end (our own fault!), and realised you can actually watch the cows being milked during the day, which is really cool! A few things to note: it’s a little tricky to find, and the instructions are open to a bit of interpretation, but the owner was lovely and happily directed us when we got lost. If you like watching TV in bed in the evenings, the wooden backrest looks beautiful but isn’t the most comfortable for sitting up. The same goes for most of the furniture apart from the sofa, which was comfy enough. There’s no oven, so meals can be a bit limited unless you plan to eat out or stick to microwave or pan-fried options, but we managed fine. The WiFi worked perfectly, so it seems they’ve upgraded it recently, which was great. Overall, it’s a wonderful romantic escape for anyone wanting to shut off, unwind, and enjoy a peaceful few days surrounded by nature. ...

Mr Grew August 2024

We had a fantastic mini moon here! On arrival we was greeted by a lucky horse shoes with just married on which was a lovely gesture, inside we were greeted by 2 cards one from the owners and one from Classic Cottages, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine, this was a lovely touch, having no signal or Internet was also great getting away from the hustle and bustle from everyday life, exploring the grounds which were beautiful and finding the little waterfall was the cherry on top, showering and bathing outside were also fantastic, everything you need is there we loved the quirkiness of everything! overall a unique and amazing stay, intend on returning but staying longer next time, thank you for giving us a memorable mini moon!
