Mrs Gillian August 2025

Lovely cottage, very clean and all the facilities needed. Excellent outdoor space which our 2 dogs loved. Walking distance to 2 pubs. Already booked again for next year!

Mrs Farquharson June 2025

We had a wonderful holiday relaxing in the garden, walking from the house on the many footpaths visiting the pub and swimming at local beaches. Just be careful of the low beams.

Mrs Nowakowski February 2025

A lovely stay in a cosy and warm cottage. We were fortunate with good weather most of the time but even the one stormy wet day was spent happily in the cottage. There is everything you could possibly need for a comfortable holiday and the area is so quiet despite being so close to amenities. Loved the pheasants walking around the garden and watching them go up to perch for the night. As well as the owls hooting every night. Would be very happy to return to the cottage and would recommend to anyone wishing to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall....

Miss Palmer April 2025

We had an excellent week at Chyvounder. We were particularly lucky with the weather and had sunshine every day. The cottage was an great base and ideal location for walking locally and visiting Falmouth. We found the beds very comfortable and it had everything we needed. I would recommend. ...

Dr Holder October 2025

TV is very poor - almost unwatchable and not of a remotely acceptable standard for 2025. Cottage smells of heating oil. Stairs are plain dangerous. Oven is so old settings on dials are worn away and so cooking is tricky. Bathroom downstairs is very tight. No undercupbard lighting in kitchen and no measuring jug nor stick liquidiser. No welcome pack of anything - not even some milk. Decorating is pretty bad and lots of surface wiring c. 1970. There's probably more but we left the next morning - frankly you wasted our time and money and you spoil your brand offering such a poor cottage....

We’re very sorry to hear that your stay at Chyvounder didn’t meet expectations. While we weren’t aware of the TV issues during your visit, we’ve since arranged for them to be investigated. If any items from our minimum inventory are ever missing, we’re always happy to provide them during your stay. Unfortunately, the housekeeper missed the fresh milk when delivering the local biscuits—we sincerely apologise for that oversight. Regarding the oil smell near the Aga, we’re unsure of the cause but pleased to report that it is no longer present. Chyvounder was redecorated two years ago in a style sympathetic to its heritage, and we do advise that, due to its age, the cottage features low doorways, steep steps, and other charming quirks. We’re sorry it wasn’t quite the right fit for you, but we truly appreciate your thoughtful feedback—it helps us improve and ensure a better experience for future guests. Julie, Customer Support...
