Oystercatcher is accessed over a short bridge that adapts with the tide (please take care). A ramp leads down to the pontoon where you can launch your kayak at high tide.

Looking back from the houseboat, the parking area is behind the fenced area, just off the road. There is a 30 mile an hour speed restriction here so no rushing traffic to disturb.

Bembridge village is a short walk away. Visit the National Trust windmill. the only surviving one on the island.
Across the harbour, along this lovely walkway, you can reach St Helen's Duver and cafe.

The lifeboat station at Bembridge is an iconic landmark.
The steam train is great fun for all the family.
Further afield, St Catherines Lighthouse sits overlooking the Solent.
Steephill Cove is a pretty place and the cafe serves great crab pasties.

The boat does bubble and creak when the tide changes but there are earplugs provided for light sleepers Bembridge village has everything you need on your doorstep including good pubs and is a great base to explore the Isle of Wight We would stay here again ...

Our holiday on The Oystercatcher was very comfortable. The property inside is as lovely as its pictures. The tide coming in does make some noise against the boat bottom and makes the boat creek but we solved that with ear plugs. We enjoyed the area, the harbour cafe is a great place to eat. ...
