The Old School Room

My 6th stay at this property and second in a month! This time meeting a friend (we also met here last year!) I came down on the train, jumped in a taxi at the station and was there. Sainsbury’s delivered my week’s food a few hours later and I had all I needed for a great week. The cottage is comfortable and the garden has lovely views of the sea. I like the convenience of being in a small town, with the beach, cafes, buses and trains nearby. And back at the house it’s quiet and there’s a feeling of space. We had a lovely break. Went to the Mount, pootled round the galleries, walked the coast path to the Cabin at Porthcurnoe, visited Treban garden, the Tremenheere Sculpture Park, picnicked in the garden, sat in the cafe and watched the boats going over to the Mount, walked the dog on the beach and caught some amazing sunsets. We were blessed with beautiful weather as we’ve been on all of our visits to Marazion. It’s my happy place, and I booked for next year the second I got home! ...

How much do I love this property!? Well, this was my 4th stay at The Old School Room and I’m coming back again in 3 weeks.!! I love Marazion, and come down every year to visit relatives. My children absolutely love the garden and the upside down layout. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The beds are clean and we always get a good night’s sleep. We had wall to wall sunshine for our stay, and only used the car once. We went over to the Mount, magical, and walking the causeway just never gets old! Walked to The Cabin for lunch and a dip in the sea, went to the sculpture garden, mooched around the galleries. It was very quiet the week we were there and the kids loved the freedom of being able to pootle down to get an ice cream and go to the beach. We sat in the garden and watched the waves for hours. Next time I’m coming down by train and the easy transport links really do make this a very easy place for a non driver who loves train journeys and walking to visit! Another excellent week at the Old School Room, a gorgeous cottage in a truly gorgeous location. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, huge garden and very cosy - we had the best week, sad we had to leave. Would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic holiday at the old school room. It was great to be able to walk to pubs, restaurants, shops and the beach within minutes and yet stay n a peaceful location.

We had a great 2 week break. Close to town centre, and even closer to a fantastic coffee shop! Very well fitted-out, spacious upper floor and the woodburner really heats the top floor fast (shop in town sells logs). Parking big enough for mid-size SUV, just make sure the handbrake works! They grey cat who visits isn't grumpy, just looks it ??...
