The beaches along the Jurassic Coast have dog friendly areas all year round, and restrictions are then lifted after September.
There are many historical houses to visit nearby, such as Montacute House.

Perfect for dogs as the garden was completely enclosed and very spacious! Local farm shop good for basics and larger stores within easy drive. The owner was most welcoming and makes excellent lemon drizzle cake !

Another wonderful week at the Pump House - a break that did us both a power of good. It's a lovely feeling to arrive there, to feel so relaxed in a comfy and friendly environment. A particular delight this summer, as last year, is to see dragonflies over the garden, having their day in the sun. Sad to leave, but we plan to be back in the spring....

The Pump House is a hidden gem in the most beautiful and tranquil setting. Soon after we arrived Judith greeted us - she was so welcoming. She had made us the most delicious lemon drizzle cake, along with a few thoughtful extras. From the moment we entered the property we felt 'at home' and relaxed. Our little dog, Rosie, enjoyed every moment too - the meadow was secure for her - paradise! The surrounding land is picturesque, with many walks. The pretty village has a well stocked farm shop and also serves good coffee and fresh snacks. The Pump House is really comfortable and in an idyllic spot - we hope to visit again in the future....
