Barbridge Farm often has visiting sheep and cute little lambs.
You will be welcome to explore the farm - just ask the owners - and to watch the wildlife using the lake. Please take care and supervise children at all times.

The owners are happy to introduce you to their Alpacas, Bondi, Crinny and Polo.
You may be able to feed these gentle Alpacas.
The Half Moon pub in Melplash is one mile away.
The stunning Jurassic cliffs at West Bay. Have lunch at the Watch House cafe - right on the beach.
West Bay has the nearest beach to Barbridge Cottage - this is the pretty harbour there.
This is the beach at Seatown, just below Dorset's famous Golden Cap. There is a lovely pub here too, perfect for lazy seaside lunches.

Barbridge cottage is an excellent hideaway, a quiet spot that allows you to relax and enjoy the wonderful peace and beauty of the undulating Dorset countryside. It is a spacious stone cottage with lovely bedrooms, large lounge and well designed kitchen and dining area. The cottage has everything you would ever want. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, including a Nespresso coffee machine. The lounge area has TV, CD and DVD players and internet access. The outside decking has patio furniture and facilities for a barbecue. Sally and Justin are the most welcoming and friendly hosts you would ever meet! Nothing is too much trouble. My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely! We were joined by two relatives for a few days which worked well as the accommodation has two comfortable bedrooms. Meeting and feeding the alpacas is a great experience and Sally goes out of her way to allow visits to see them. Make sure you bring their favourite snack ... chopped carrots! We plan to return one day in the future!...

This was our second visit 9 years after the first. Barbridge Cottage was as comfortable and welcoming as we remembered. Quiet and peaceful for a restful break yet close to much that West Dorset has to offer. Thoroughly recommended.

We love Barbridge Cottage. It’s in such a peaceful location…is very well equipped and is perfect for our disabled son with the wetroom and level access. The owners- Sally and Justin, live next door and are very warm, friendly and welcoming. The food welcome pack was so useful and Sally provides much information about the local area in a folder to give ideas for your visit. An added bonus are the nine lovely Alpacas that we enjoyed feeding .. ( the two baby crias! ). Comfortable furniture and beds…spotlessly clean. We look forward to our next stay. ...

To anyone visiting and staying at Barbridge Cottage you will not be disappointed. It is an excellent place to spend a week. Take advantage of the more than comprehensive information provided by Sally and Justin. Do not be put off by having to go up a small track to the cottage. It is only 100 yards or so. Make sure you see the Alpacas and walk around the pond at the farm. We had a great time. Tony and Pauline....
