Close to sandy beaches at Pendower and Carne, this lovely old cottage is perfect for families and those wishing to explore the beautiful Roseland peninsula. There is a big enclosed garden and sun-trap dining patio, a wonderfully sheltered spot for outdoor meals and leisurely evening drinks.

Furnished and decorated to a very high standard, wonderfully comfortable Reskivers Cottage is a proper country cottage with a wood-burner in the sitting-room, an Aga in the kitchen and a boot rack by the door.

Tucked down a little lane just off the A3078 outside the village of Tregony, there are farm shops selling local produce, numerous celebrated restaurants and beachside cafes, ferry services from St Mawes to Falmouth, and the delightful Cathedral City of Truro, all within 10 miles.

Reskivers Cottage has a large sitting/dining-room with sofas set before a wood-burner, a Smart TV with DVD and music player, a door out to the patio and garden, and a dining-area with lights hanging low over the table, perfect for sociable holiday meals. An open archway leads through to the kitchen/breakfast-room where a warming electric Aga takes centre stage, a wonderful opportunity for Jamie Oliver or Nigella Lawson devotees to create some amazing family feasts. There is also a combination microwave and induction hob in the utility-room, which act as useful supplements to the Aga, and a Nespresso machine for that vital cup of morning coffee.

There is a door out to the completely private garden with large dining patio and spacious level lawn, a great place for children's games or an adult croquet or badminton tournament. With a cloakroom on the ground floor and a family bathroom and en suite shower-room on the floor above, there won't be queues in the morning when everyone is raring to get out and explore.

The four bedrooms upstairs have super comfortable beds, lovely linens and lovingly chosen lamps and soft furnishings. The main bedroom has an en suite shower-room and another spacious bedroom has 'zip and link' beds for flexible accommodation. A second double bedroom and single bedroom (with a useful pull-out bed for an additional child) complete the accommodation.

This is a wonderful area for beach enthusiasts, garden lovers, walkers and those who love eating out. The Roseland peninsula offers wonderful sandy beaches (with nearby Caerhays, Pendower and Carne all having parking right by the beach), fabulous walks and great opportunities for dining out with renowned restaurants like The Rosevine and Driftwood near Portscatho and The Idle Rocks and Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes offering fine dining with fabulous sea views. And for something a little different try The Hidden Hut cafe, found beside the coastal footpath and only accessible on foot...a great reward for a coastal stomp! The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a ten minute drive away, found just outside the lovely fishing port of Mevagissey; the gardens of Caerhays, Trewithen and Lamorran House are close by (open in the summer months) and the Eden Project is half an hour's drive.

Hidden in a small hamlet, midway between Truro and St Austell and only six minutes from the A390 and 20 minutes from the A30, Reskivers Cottage is also ideally positioned for exploration of the rest of Cornwall, with Newquay and the surfing beaches of the north coast just over half an hour away, the rugged beauty of Land's End and the coves and fishing villages of the far west all within an hour.
