KingThis delightful bolthole is the perfect escape for solo adventurers and couples looking for a charming, bijou retreat in one of Cornwall's most beautiful pockets. Set in the breathtakingly beautiful Rame peninsula, in the heart of the countryside with the coast only a 10 minute walk away, it offers that rare blend of rolling fields, big skies and sea salted air. It's small, sweet and beautifully put together, ideal for those who want to slip away for a few days or settle in for a longer stay.
From here, you can wander down to the charming twinned villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, weaving through the narrow streets to pick up fresh pastries or linger by the water or head out to Whitsand Bay, where big skies and rolling surf set the tone for the day. Some days you'll feel like exploring; other days you'll want to stay put, soaking up the sunshine or enjoying the treats available to all guests at Wringford Cottages. There's space to relax, wander, picnic or flop with a book, plus plenty of ways to while away an afternoon - a refreshing swim in the covered (seasonal) pool, a friendly rally on the tennis court, or relaxed (and occasionally competitive) moments in the games-room, where table-tennis, pool and table football await.
Inside Bramble Cottage everything is set up for easy, comfortable living. The open plan living-room is set to greet you and ensure you make the most of your time together. The king-size bed invites leisurely lie-ins and a relaxing start to the day.
You've also got a couple of quiet spots outside to make the most of the setting. Watch the sun set on the day from the raised decking and a tucked away corner is perfect for a morning coffee or a quiet read. Peaceful places to pause and enjoy the peace that surrounds.
You really must venture out and enjoy days exploring this special part of Cornwall. The historic houses and gardens of Antony (National Trust), Mount Edgcumbe and Port Eliot are all close by, each offering its own mix of history, woodland walks and peaceful corners to linger in. And with endless miles of coastal footpaths, you can set out in almost any direction and find big skies, hidden coves and views that stop you in your tracks.
A foot ferry (seasonal) or the Torpoint car ferry will take you across to the maritime city of Plymouth, where you can wander over historic Plymouth Hoe, lose yourself in the narrow streets of the Barbican, catch top rated theatre, or eat your way around the city's latest hotspot, Royal William Yard.
Golfers can put their handicaps to the test on the links course at Whitsand Bay Golf Club, while a little further along the coast, the bustling fishing town of Looe makes a great day trip with boat rides, seaside shops and classic fish and chips by the harbour.
