Zip and linkTucked away between towering pines, you’ll find Solas, a purpose-built cabin with envious views across Loch Broom and the perfect stay for families.
The cabin’s dark exterior cladding blends in with Solas’ magical location in Leckmelm Wood on the edge of Ullapool, the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. Step inside and you’ll find everything you need for a family-stay.
The large, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area has underfloor heating throughout. The sleek and stylish kitchen is jam-packed with everything you need to enjoy your stay, the beautiful wooden cabinets and complemented by fun pops of colour from wall hung cups. The dining table accommodates four with ease and has beautiful views across the terrace and into the woods beyond. The lounge area has a cosy sofa and TV for relaxing. The picture window offers plenty of opportunities for entertainment, peek through and see if you can spot the Red Squirrels and Pine Martin’s that the forest is known for.
The master bedroom has a zip and link super king bed and wonderful natural light that dances across the white-washed wooden-clad room. The ensuite is a good size and features a rainfall shower head.
The second bedroom also has the option of being a super king, or two twin beds. The picture windows are at the perfect hight for watching the wonder of the Scottish countryside from the comfort of your bed. Again, the ensuite is a good size and features a rainfall shower. Please note, this second bedroom is accessed via the covered outdoor porchway and is not accessible from the main living area.
Outside, the glass-roofed veranda provides mesmerising views across to Loch Broom and beyond. While away afternoons here spotting the various creatures that call Leckmelm woods home. It’s also perfect for a spot of stargazing on clear nights. There’s an outside firepit too, with a free bucket of wood and kindling - great for toasting marshmallows and keeping warm on cooler evenings.
Wellies and walking boots are a must pack item for a stay at Solas. In just a few minutes you can walk to Loch Broom – where you can enjoy wild-swimming and kayaking. For those wanting to venture a little further, the pretty village of Ullapool is just 3miles away. Here you’ll find opportunities for boat trips, hill walking and much more.
Leckmelm Wood is a 32-hectare former Forestry Commission mixed conifer plantation that Solas’ owners are striving to form into a more diverse woodland that offers a healthier, more productive & abundant ecosystem for the people and other wildlife that inhabits it.
There is one other hideaway onsite should you wish to book a group getaway:Silva (6110). Both cabins are positioned in a way that you have complete privacy.
