Nestled between the trees on the edge of Leckmelm Wood, on the North Coast 500 route, Silva offers the ultimate peaceful retreat for two.

Purpose-built with dark exterior cladding that blends into the towering pines that surround the cabin, keeping it inconspicuous in its natural setting. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a light-flooded space that’s modern-yet-homely and equipped with everything you need for a memorable stay.

The open-plan living area – with underfloor heating throughout - houses a sleek wood-grained kitchen that’s filled with gadgets and everything you need to cook up anything from a simple breakfast to something special. Here you’ll also find a comfortable sofa area with colourful cushions and a TV for cosy evenings in. There’s a dining table here too. But what will really draw your eye is the floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in and give you 180-degree views of forests, mountains, Loch Broom, and the ever-changing wintery Scottish skies.

The bedroom space with its king-size bed and calming white-washed panelled walls is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the abundance of nature around you. The en-suite, with a walk in rainfall shower, is a good size too.

The best part of Silva is found outside. The glazed-roof decking allows you to sit outside and immerse yourself in the Scottish wilderness - it’s beautiful on a sunny day and perfect for a spot of stargazing. You may even be lucky enough to spot red squirrels and pine martens. There’s an outside firepit too, with a free bucket of wood and kindling - great for toasting marshmallows and keeping warm on cooler evenings.

Silva’s setting in Leckmelm Wood gives plenty of opportunity for exploring – walking boots will be a staple during your stay. Take a short walk down to the shores of Loch Broom or a longer one to Ullapool where you’ll find a large range of activities to keep you busy. Jump aboard a tour from the pier for some island hopping or don your hiking boots and tackle one of the rugged mountains that surround Ullapool including Bheinn Ghobblack to the west, before heading to a traditional Scottish pub for a well-deserved pint. Ullapool is the gateway to the highlands, so venture a little further and be mesmerised by the magic of the Scottish Highlands.

Leckmelm Wood is a 32-hectare, former Forestry Commission Scotland mixed conifer plantation, comprising Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Scots Pine & Lodgepole Pine. Silva’s owners purchased the forest in 1992 and have gradually been working to restructure the plantation; to create a more diverse woodland and a more productive and abundant ecosystem.

There is one other hideaway onsite should you wish to book a group getaway:Solas (6111). Both cabins are positioned in a way that you have complete privacy.
