Bunk-bedsIf you're looking for a beautifully finished penthouse apartment, boasting the most spectacular views from almost every window, a glorious hot tub and outdoor sauna perched overlooking the beach and out to sea, look no further than Mount Folly Penthouse.
This beautiful retreat provides the perfect all-year-round holiday experience for both families and friends looking for something unique and rather special. Enjoying elevated views overlooking Bigbury-on-Sea beach, this beautifully finished retreat offers the utmost in style, comfort and location. It most certainly has the wow factor.
Venturing out into the grounds, you are treated to a superb area to relax and unwind, from the sun loungers to the hot tub, or the super inviting sauna, whichever spot you choose to perch at/in, the magnificent panoramic views of Bigbury beach, over to Burgh Island and out to sea will be far reaching and unspoilt.
Following a day of enjoying the great outdoors, Mount Folly Penthouse is the most delightful retreat to return to. The open plan kitchen/dining and sitting area is the perfect communal space to relax and unwind together whilst planning tomorrow's adventures. When it comes to bedtime, the three beautifully designed bedrooms will leave you spoilt for choice, especially as they too have the most stunning sea views.
Mount Folly Penthouse sits just across the way from Mount Folly Farm, which is a wonderful working farm, boasting from sheep and hens, beef, growing vegetables which are supplied locally to the creation of their own ice-cream which you can purchase on site, what a treat!
The friendly owners of the farm and cottages live on site and are on hand to help make your holiday the most special experience possible in this magical spot. If you have friends or family who simply can't miss out on this special holiday experience Mount Folly Farmhouse (6108) is also available.
For your extra enjoyment there are some other rather special sporting facilities at your disposal. You could pop up to Bigbury Golf Club and put your golfing skills to the test (at the cost of the usual club fees) to name one. Or maybe you would just prefer to enjoy a Devon cream tea in the luxurious surroundings of the Burgh Island Hotel; if so, this is on offer with the hotel's warmest welcome.
There really is endless fun to be had in this very sought-after location. Perhaps a stroll along this staggering coastline is on your 'to do' list, if so - great choice! As you meander around these stunning coastal routes, please ensure the camera is close to hand as the views will be worth a snap or two!
Or perhaps someone in the group has a burning desire to learn to hand-surf; if so, help is at hand - only a short distance away is a very friendly and professional surf school, who are equipped to teach at all levels. However, if relaxing and unwinding in the sun is all you seek, Bigbury-on-Sea beach is the perfect spot for you which is approximately 650 yards downhill from your doorstep, however please remember what goes down must come up, therefore it is suggested that anyone not wishing to walk back up the hill takes advantage of the car park readily available at the bottom of the hill, in front of the beach.
To finish off a special holiday, an evening out is always the way to go, and there is none more exciting or romantic than taking the sea tractor (at high tide) over to Burgh Island and treating yourselves to a spot of food at The Pilchard Inn. The Pilchard Inn has served fine food and wine for over 700 years. This characterful inn has been a favourite haunt with smugglers and local fishermen for centuries, so for one night (at least) we would certainly recommend taking a trip over. Or perhaps the Art Deco hotel on Burgh Island is on your 'to do' list, which has also welcomed guests such as Agatha Christie, The Beatles and Noel Coward in years gone by, the perfect venue for that special treat, one which will hold special memories for many years to come.
There is so much to do for the adventure monkeys of the group; surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking are all very popular on Bigbury beach. With the facilities and equipment located on the beach and readily available for hire - what are you waiting for!
Your location is simply second to none. The beaches, coastal walks and surrounding areas in this stunning location offer you adventure, unspoilt beauty and endless entertainment in every direction. The towns and villages of Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes and Brixham are also within striking distance via car. These exceptionally popular towns and villages all hold so much individual charm and character, making them a great day out for all the family.
