This beautiful cottage is perfect for family or friends who wish to enjoy all south Devon has to offer, especially as the South West Coast Path runs directly in front of your doorstep, offering stunning views and numerous coves and beaches along the way.
This rather special location treats you to both coast and country. Surrounded by stunning hills and countryside makes for a walker's paradise. You are also treated to splendid sea views, especially if you venture up to the top garden where the far-reaching views over Start Bay really do open up in front of your eyes.
Stepping inside, Glen Cottage is super homely and cosy. The kitchen is fully-fitted with everything you will need to whip up any feast, and the sitting-room, boasting a glowing wood-burner, is the ideal place to snuggle up after a long day of fun and exploration. When it comes to retiring for the evening, you have two beautiful bedrooms to choose from; a king-size double and a twin configuration that can also be set up as a super-king size bed. This charming semi-detached cottage also boasts two bathrooms; one on each floor for ease of access.
As for soaking up the Devon air, you are treated to a two-tiered external space. Heading out is also a real pleasure. The Kings Arms pub which is within a minute's walk is your traditional welcoming Devon Inn - traditional ales and a warm welcome await. Slightly further afield you have numerous beauty spots and attractions all easily accessible via a pleasurable car journey along the coast. There is also a local Post Office a one minute walk from the cottage that is open daily and stocks useful essentials. Glen Cottage also benefits from a private parking space next to the property.
Whether you are seeking adventure and exploration or relaxation and rejuvenation, Glen Cottage offers the perfect combination.
Glen Cottage is located a short drive away from Torcross and Slapton Sands. Slapton Sands offers a 1.2 mile stretch of shingle beach. This area of coastline is a historic site, well-known for its role in the Allied preparations for the D-Day landings - you can even touch a real-life Sherman tank which was recovered from the waters just in front. If you're a nature lover, Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is a fantastic spot located adjacent to the beach. The lake here is the largest natural lake in south west England and is wonderful for walking and wildlife watching.
If it is a beach day you seek, you are spoilt for choice in every direction. However, for a beach which offers all amenities, you have the very popular and stunning Blackpool Sands just around the corner, which offers takeaway food from the restaurant, or a fabulous menu to sit in and dine, a beach shop which caters for all and the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic choice of watersports using their hire equipment, not forgetting their fabulous seaside sauna.
Enjoying the local villages and towns is also a must. The wonderful towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe are within easy reach, offering independent shops, cute cafes and welcoming pubs and, if you fancy picking up some fresh local produce for mealtimes, Stokeley Farm Shop is only a short car journey away and perfect for the foodies of the party.
You cannot visit this part of the world and not take a trip to marvel at the Naval port of Dartmouth; a delightful ten minute coastal drive will get you there in no time.
