If it's a superb rural retreat you are looking for, look no further, The Granary at Greenawell Farm is the perfect package. The Granary is a beautiful stone cottage, finished to an exceptional standard and offers the most wonderful countryside views from both the cottage and the two outside seating areas. This is truly a walker's paradise, ideal for that special couple's getaway. Dining, relaxing, and exploring will never prove so much fun.

Exploring your surroundings on foot is so easy to do, however, exploring this magical spot by bike is also recommended, especially as it makes negotiating the back lanes much more enjoyable. Winding your way via some of Devon's most picturesque lanes and scenery will find you at The Granary, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!

Once inside this beautiful cottage you will feel instantly welcomed. The cottage offers so much space and for two couples who wish to enjoy company yet find their own space. You have the luxury of a large sitting-room and a snug area, two external seating areas for enjoying a glass of something tasty whilst taking in the views. Retiring for the night is also a treat, both bedrooms offer fabulous en suite facilities and sumptuous beds, guaranteeing that well deserved night's sleep ready for an action-packed day ahead.

This wonderful base is ideal for those wishing to explore this fabulous part of Devon, with the renowned Dartmoor National Park being only a short drive away and the nearby towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford also only a few minutes' drive. Both towns offer a fabulous selection of village shops, independent delicatessens, butchers, bakers and newsagents to name but a few, along with numerous eateries and a delightful collection of welcoming traditional pubs. For those who would like to experience the true beauty of this magical location, you have covered bike storage available, therefore you can arrive on four wheels and use two wheels to explore!

It's also important to give chef the night off, which is so easy to do as you have the exceptionally popular Ring O' Bells pub under two miles from your doorstep, or perhaps a day out at Bovey Castle Hotel and Spa sounds like a nice treat, again, within such close proximity to The Granary, it would be a shame not to spoil yourself.

Beautiful sights and scenes can be enjoyed from all angles in the grounds, along with a touch of rural life given Greenawell Farm is a working farm - watching the cows and sheep grazing in the encompassing fields is so relaxing. It goes without saying, these fields are not to be entered for your safety and the animals grazing. If you would like some help planning a more action-packed day, the very friendly owners live within the grounds in the main farmhouse and are more than willing to help you make the most of your holiday in this very special part of the world.

Why not bring some friends or extended family with you, as through the farm courtyard, tucked away in another courtyard you have the beautiful Stable Cottage (5446) and Horseshoe Cottage (5747).

Babes in arms up to six months and children ten years and over are welcome at The Granary.

Truly enjoying the delights of this beautiful area is a must. Devon produce can be found in abundance in the neighbouring towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford; indeed a holiday in Devon is not complete without a traditional cream tea and this delicious treat is definitely worth sampling!

Dartmoor is home to rare and spectacular sights. Meandering through the gorgeous Dartmoor National Park is a real treat, and with numerous pubs and cafes scattered throughout, each day is different. So, don those walking boots and prepare to soak up the magic of Dartmoor and take in all its rather special inhabitants.

Not forgetting that the sandy beaches of the beautiful south Devon coast are only a short car journey away. A beach day out in Teignmouth or Shaldon may be just the ticket should you desire to walk on the sand. These beautiful coastal towns are under 18 miles away, and most certainly worth venturing over to.

However, a holiday is not all about adventure and action, taking the time to relax and unwind is crucial, and in this peaceful and tranquil spot it's very easy to do! Why not simply pop open a bottle of something tasty and sit back and relax on the patio.

The Granary is a wonderful year-round holiday destination, and with so much to offer you won't want to leave.
