Dartmoor has some idyllic landscapes and riverside walks.
There are sublime views to behold across Dartmoor.
The south coast is not far away - this is beautiful Shaldon.
Teignmouth is definitely worth a visit.

KingWelcome to Stable Cottage! This gem of a cottage is part of a converted courtyard of traditional stone farm buildings and nestles perfectly within the picturesque Greenawell Farm grounds. This beautifully renovated single storey abode offers oodles of space and luxury for a lucky couple to really make themselves at home. Externally, you can't help but feel engulfed in nature. The property boasts the most magnificent countryside views, the perfect backdrop for enjoying a glass of wine on the patio whilst the sun goes down.
Stable Cottage provides a wonderful base to explore this fabulous part of Devon, with the renowned Dartmoor National Park being only a short drive away, and the nearby town of Moretonhampstead and Chagford also only a few minutes' drive away. Both towns offer a fabulous selection of village shops, independent delicatessens, butchers, bakers and newsagents to name but a few, along with numerous eateries, and a delightful collection of welcoming traditional pubs. For those who would like to experience the true beauty of this magical location, you have covered bike storage available, therefore you can arrive on four wheels and use two wheels to explore!
It's also important to give chef the night off, which is so easy to do as you have the exceptionally popular Ring O' Bells pub under two miles from your doorstep, or perhaps a day out at Bovey Castle and Hotel and Spa sounds like a nice treat, again, within such close proximity to Stable Cottage, it would be a shame not to spoil yourself.
After a full day of fun and adventure, this delightful retreat awaits. With its sumptuous sofas to relax into and glorious king-size bed to retire to, not forgetting the toasty under-floor heating throughout, Stable Cottage offers it all when it comes to relaxing and rejuvenating.
Beautiful sights and scenes can be enjoyed from all angles in the beautiful grounds, along with a touch of rural life given Greenawell Farm is a working farm - watching the cows and sheep grazing in the encompassing fields is so relaxing. However, if you would like some help planning a more action-packed day, the very friendly owners live within the grounds in the main farmhouse and are more than willing to help you make the most of your holiday in this very special part of the world.
Truly enjoying the delights of this beautiful area is a must. Devon produce can be found in abundance in the neighbouring towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford; indeed a holiday in Devon is not complete without a traditional cream tea and this delicious treat is definitely worth sampling!
Dartmoor is home to rare and spectacular sights. Meandering through the gorgeous Dartmoor National Park is a real treat, and with numerous pubs and cafes scattered throughout, each day is different. So, don those walking boots and prepare to soak up the magic of Dartmoor and take in all its rather special inhabitants.
Not forgetting that the sandy beaches of the beautiful south Devon coast are only a short car journey away. A beach day out in Teignmouth or Shaldon may be just the ticket should you desire to walk on the sand. These beautiful coastal towns are under 18 miles away, and most certainly worth venturing over to.
However, a holiday is not all about adventure and action, taking the time to relax and unwind is crucial, and in this peaceful and tranquil spot it's very easy to do! Why not simply pop open a bottle of something tasty and sit back and relax on the patio.
