Resting under the ancient chestnut tree, not far from the oak-lined banks of the Helford, this beautifully converted detached barn has been curated into a dreamy retreat for two lucky guests. Think thoughtful design paired with natural luxury. Every inch of this enchanting space has been crafted for indulgent, slow-paced escapes in complete comfort, and the site is totally unique, and so special.
Step through the stable-door into the kitchen, which is a showpiece in itself, with deep inky cabinetry, high-end finishes and everything you could wish for to create a leisurely breakfast, candlelit supper or al fresco picnic.
The heart of the cottage is a gorgeous open plan living and dining space, where rustic Tuscan charm blends effortlessly with refined style. This gorgeous romantic space unfolds beneath soaring ceilings, bathed in light from the full-width bi-fold doors that open out to the deck. Plush velvet sofas invite you to sink in beside the glowing log-burner perfectly placed to unwind after enjoying the incredible facilities onsite. A bespoke staircase leads to a tender mezzanine sleeping area above (the eaves are exceptionally low overhead and great care must be taken, suitcases must be left on the ground floor). The mezzanine sleeping space is gently dressed with soft linens and has Velux windows that make you feel as though you are in the treetops, offering a real hideaway beneath the eaves.
The shower-room is on the ground floor and is simply exquisite; a calming, spa-like sanctuary with striking Italian floor tiles, elegant fittings and stunning accents.
Outside, open the bi-fold doors and let the fresh air drift in as you step out onto your private decking area, complete with picnic table and loungers. You have access to the spa area views of the magnificent willow tree that leans dramatically over the wild swimming pond. This special place is sympathetic to the flora and fauna and aims to coexist in harmony. Dragonflies dance above the water of the reed filtered pond, and the sauna and wood-fired hot tub offer pure relaxation. Holiday cottage guests staying enjoy inclusive use of the swimming pond, sauna and hot tub. The sauna opens at 16.30 daily. (Please note, the hot tub is available all day every day but restricted on a Friday and won't be available until after 15.00 hours). There is also a gorgeous hybrid space for yoga during the day and films on a projector by evening. Private slots can be reserved on site. Quiet time is after 11pm and children must be supervised at all times in these communal areas. Please note there is a small campsite operational on site in the August months, and campsite guests have access to the wild swimming pond.
This tranquil setting, pool and spa area are shared with Swallows' Nest (6007) and Starry Skies (6008), as well as the resident owners who live and work here.
