The gardens are extensive. They are not all accessible but can be explored (please take care and supervise children at all times as there are some drops and slopes).
Views across the garden out to the coast (please note, the building on the right is secured and used for storage purposes only during the 2023 season however it is anticipated that it will be in use as a dwelling in 2024).
To get to the back door walk through the gate and around the back of the house.

Commanding a prime position and with breathtaking views of the coastline and sea beyond, this fabulous Grade II Listed family abode sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoys no less than 10 acres of grounds! A stunning Edwardian house, it is full of character and charm which blends seamlessly with modern day living, offering the perfect backdrop to a memory-making holiday that includes the family hounds.

This spacious, well-equipped seaside home will delight. Split over three floors, boasting seven bedrooms and sleeping 14 lucky guests, it's the ideal retreat for either a multi-generational family holiday or the perfect spot for a group of friends to come together and enjoy the delights of north Cornwall.

Inside there is oodles of space for all 14 guests to gather and plenty of options to find some quiet space on your own - hide and seek is a must or sit around the grand antique dining-table and enjoy a game of cards. It's just the place for large family holidays or marking a special event or occasion. The spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living-room is truly the heart of the house. The wonderful large kitchen is fully equipped allowing for the feast of all feasts to be rustled up by one and all! The cherry on top being the views out of the windows down to the sea! In contrast, to the front of the house, you will find the sitting-room boasting a cosy open fire, perfect for those out-of-season breaks and the snuggest of film nights.

Head upstairs to discover the wonderfully restful bedrooms, all styled in pretty colours and patterns and sure to provide a restorative night's sleep ready for the next adventure! Set over two floors you will find seven bedrooms, four on the first floor and a further three on the second floor, again those bedrooms to the back of the house enjoy the same wonderful sea views, with bedroom one benefitting from an en suite. Across the two floors you will find three bathrooms as well as a wet-room.

Head outside via the back door to enjoy the grounds where you will not be short of space, both the children and dogs can run and play until their hearts' content under the endless skies and glorious Cornish sunshine. With the coast in the background the perfect scene will play out before your eyes. The patio offers the perfect spot for family barbecues whilst enjoying a thirst-quenching sundowner as the sun sets on a view that you simply will not forget!

If you can bear to tear yourself away from your breathtaking surroundings and your local beach there are lots of options. The seaside town of Bude is just a short car ride away. Voted best UK coastal town for three consecutive years, this is a great place for shopping in independent boutique shops and dining in one of many cafes, restaurants and inns. Bude is also renowned as the surfing mecca of the north coast and water sports enthusiasts will love the vast sandy beaches and Atlantic rollers.

Walkers should head for the miles of dramatic coast path where secret coves, sandy beaches and exhilarating landscapes are waiting to be discovered. Both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are within striking distance of Nancemellan, with vast moorlands and stunning views, both are great for a day of exploring either on foot or by bike and watch out for the ponies! The gorgeous seaside villages of Boscastle, Crackington Haven and Hartland are a short journey away and these are lovely places for a traditional day on the coast.

However you plan to spend your getaway, Nancemellan is the perfect Cornish retreat.

Please note, the garden is vast and wraps around the property with a number of drops and slopes - children should be supervised at all times especially on uneven areas and around the pond. Please be aware that the electric Aga is for cooking purposes only and as such is not in permanent use. It can be switched on for cooking use when required in addition to the main oven. The trampoline is not available to guests and must not be used. Take care as there are some sloping ceilings with restricted headroom on the second floor. The fire in the open plan living-room is ornamental, however, the sitting-room fire is operational. *Only 2 cots are provided, bring your own travel cot.
