Driftwood Lodge is a contemporary upside-down house with stunning views over the River Dart Estuary. The property has wonderful airy rooms with high ceilings and a superb outside garden space opening up directly onto the river.

From the entrance parking area, a dozen steps lead down to the main entrance. As you enter the house a beautiful living area greets you with its indulgent wood-burning stove for cosy evenings playing games or catching up in front of the large Smart TV. The magnificent display window stretches to the 4 metre high ceilings allowing for great views over the river from the comfort of one of the inviting sofas. Settle down with an early morning coffee on the fabulous balcony area and keep your eyes out for heron, swans, egrets and even the occasional seal.

The oak dining-table is great for enjoying hearty suppers after long days exploring. At the rear of the living space sits the modern kitchen with granite worktops, range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher.

To the rear of this floor are two beautiful bedrooms. Bedroom one has a lavish king-size bed, Smart TV and en suite shower-room. Enter bedroom two with its double bed and enjoy its wonderfully light and airy feel thanks to its fabulous high ceilings and gorgeous pastel tones. For those who don't have access to an en suite retreat to the luxuriously decorated family bathroom with its beautiful free-standing bath tub and separate shower cubicle. Venture down the spiral staircase to the lower ground floor river room with further dining and sitting areas. The river room is split between a comfortable sitting area with large sofas and Smart TV and a servery area with sink, fridge, wine fridge and drinks bar and a circular glass dining-table.

Beyond the river room is a large laundry-room with a washing machine and tumble-drier and a further large storage area for visitors' bikes and toys. Bedroom three has a luxurious king-size bed, Smart TV and large en suite bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle. Bedroom four has twin beds and looks out over the garden and river beyond and is ideal for the kids.

Outside, the beautiful garden is set up for day and night time fun whether you're dining al fresco, soaking up the sun or simply listening to the river. The main patio dining area is accessed directly from the river room patio doors and has access to two barbecues. After dinner why not enjoy fun evenings with family and friends sat on the benches around the fire-pit, or simply relax by the water's edge directly outside the garden gate.

Stoke Gabriel is a pretty historic village where the cottages tumble down the hill to the picturesque River Dart Estuary. The centre of the village is only a two minute walk from the house and has pubs, Emma's Restaurant, an art gallery, a Post Office and a general store. The Rivershack Brasserie sits on the foreshore some 200 yards from Driftwood Lodge. The Sharpham Winery at Sandridge Barton is only a short woodland walk away, with wine and cheese tastings and vineyard tours, together with its own on site restaurant.

Riverside activities abound with beautiful riverside walks, kayak and paddleboard hire on the slipway and crabbing on the quayside for the younger family members.

Other local attractions include Agatha Christie's house Greenway and D'Oyly Carte's Coleton Fishacre house within a short drive. Bohemian Totnes is only a ten minute drive away with its mainline railway station to London, Paddington and its array of quirky shops and art galleries and weekly market. Or take an idyllic river boat trip to bustling Dartmouth which can also be accessed by steam train.
