Set on a private, secluded plot, Acorns is a wonderful family holiday home. Recently renovated to a very high standard, this detached house in the historic village of Corfe Castle offers space, excellent comfort and your own slice of luxury.

The kitchen is a fabulous, open plan space that is flooded with light. The chefs among you will delight in how well-equipped the kitchen is and the handy breakfast-bar area means plenty of opportunity for sociable chatter with those waiting for their feast. In the sitting/dining-room there is a super-cosy L-shaped sofa; a perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee from the Nespresso Vertuo. After a busy day exploring Dorset, share memories around the dining-table with a glass of something chilled. Even when the weather is less kind you can enjoy this room by turning on the log-effect electric fire and cosying up with a hot chocolate.

On the ground floor there is a tranquil bedroom, complete with an en suite shower-room (that can also be accessed via a separate door from the kitchen). This room offers excellent flexibility for a family or guests with limited mobility.

Climbing the stairs - being sure to marvel at the gorgeous hanging light fitting on the way up - you will find two further bedrooms and the family bathroom. On this floor there is also a snug with TV - a perfect escape room or a useful space in which to catch up on emails during those workcations. Every room has been so thoughtfully styled and the contemporary finishes really add to the beautiful, welcoming feel of this house.

The large wrap-around garden, complete with a sunny patio, is a fantastic spot for relaxing in and al fresco dining on balmy summer days will leave you with fond holiday memories. Whilst you could spend all day in the garden, if you wish to stretch your legs further, there are some wonderful walks right from the door.

A holiday at Acorns also allows you to feel part of a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of living. As well as solar panels and an electric vehicle charging point, the use of eco-friendly products helps to protect the beautiful local landscapes.

Of course, your stay would not be complete without making the short walk to the ruins of Corfe Castle - the first stone of this imposing castle was laid over 1000 years ago and since then it has been shaped by warfare and has been, at various points in time, a military garrison, a royal residence, a treasury and a family home. Made from local Purbeck limestone, it can be seen from miles around - you can even see glimpses of it in certain rooms at Acorns.

After visiting this historic place, you are sure to need some refreshment and you will be spoilt for choice in the village that boasts great pubs, cafes and tea shops. Keep an eye out for the steam train that runs through the village on the Swanage Railway, it is a fantastic spectacle and a fun trip for children and adults alike.

Further afield but still within easy reach by car, are the miles of sandy beaches at Swanage and Studland - perfect places for a family day out. You could hop on the ferry from Studland across to Poole Harbour, where you can enjoy a special meal out or wander around Sandbanks; recognised as one of the most exclusive locations in the world. The wonders of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are a short drive away and well worth a trip to see the incredible rock formations.

There is so much to do across the Purbecks, including cycling, horse-riding and an abundance of water sports. There is secure storage for bikes, kayaks and SUPs available for guests. You also have access to an outdoor showerhead, for washing these items off after your adventures. With so much on offer in this location, coupled with a gorgeous house in Acorns, we are sure you will fall in love with this corner of Dorset.
