KingFull of charm and character, Mount Wise Farmhouse is over 400 years old, and is centrally located within South West Cornwall. The warmest of welcomes awaits as you step through the front door into the main room of the house with the dining-table and lounge area. There are lots of thoughtful touches to help you settle right in, from homemade bread to other treats and surprises, and a cupboard full of board games and puzzles for rainy days.
Available for up to six guests and two four-legged friends, it has a very well-equipped kitchen with a twin oven electric Rangemaster, granite worktops and a double Belfast sink. The dining-room table seats eight (Farmhouse bookings can be combined with two-person Mount Wise Cottage (2187) next door), so plenty of space to entertain family and friends.
The Farmhouse's ground floor boasts a cosy sitting-room with original granite fireplace housing a wood-burning stove and a practical utility-room for storing boots and beach gear. Cleverly situated under the staircase to the second double bedroom with king-size bed, is a handy desk and chair should you need to check in with the outside world, together with access to the shower-room. This area makes it a perfect property for two couples, with each king-size bedroom having it's own staircase and bathroom facilities.
From the utility-room guests can head up to the twin-room, dressing-room, main bedroom, and bathroom featuring a lovely rolltop bath to relax in after a good day's exploring.
A few steps away from the three-tiered front garden is a fenced off paddock with a landscaped decking area, picnic-table and relaxing deck chairs - perfect for lazy brunches listening to birdsong, catching the sunset with an evening aperitif and spotting bats at dusk.
On the door step there is the newly created Platinum Jubilee Trail, a circular walk through the Parish of Wendron's unspoilt natural environment and industrial heritage, created, as the name suggests, in honour of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee. Do bring your walking boots though as it is nearly eight miles if you complete it all at once.
Mount Wise Farmhouse is perfectly positioned for exploring Cornwall, with scenic Stithians Reservoir close by and secure bicycle storage on site. You'll have easy access to Cornwall's north and south coasts and the far west of the county. The Helford River, beautiful Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are all a short drive away.
The world-famous Eden Project is only an hour away, and closer to home you can soak up maritime history in Falmouth, walk through the historic town of Helston or visit the beautiful Cathedral City of Truro.

The stairs are typical of a Cornish cottage and are narrow and steep, and there are low beams and ceilings. There is a screened off tunnel in the garden, please beware and supervise small children in the garden due to the differing levels. *A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
