The Studio is a unique barn conversion near Calbourne, designed by the owner, an amazing property filled with original artwork also from the owner’s collection. On entry, the living dining room is a large open plan space, double height, in keeping with the building and has a wood burning stove in one corner. Off the main living-space the conservatory spans the full length of the barn overlooking the orchard and fields beyond, an ideal place to have your morning coffee and plan your day ahead. There are three good-sized double bedrooms at The Studio, one of which is on the ground floor, ideal for those that might find it difficult to navigate the spiral staircase. They would also have access to the family bathroom, which is also on the ground floor. The two double bedrooms upstairs are in the eaves so have some restricted head height in some areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, with a wonderfully large dining-table so the whole family can get together and chat about their island adventures. There is private parking for two vehicles.
Along with the lawned areas around The Studio, guests also have access to the orchard and a large field, both owned and tended to by the owner. This is a child’s delight where they can run around, play and explore while in view. The outlook and surrounding countryside on view from the property is breath-taking, a peaceful haven for a family holiday. The picturesque village of Calbourne itself is home to The Sun Inn, a traditional village pub overlooking Westover Cricket Club. The Island’s famous Winkle Street is a short stroll away from the pub, a picturesque row of cottages which frequently appear on postcards of the island and well worth a visit. Also on your list of things to do is Calbourne Water Mill and Rural Museum, set in 35 acres of stunning rural landscape this is one of the oldest working water mills in the country. A fascinating day out for all the family. The Piglet (3795) is the smaller of the two barns and is situated next to The Studio, making it ideal to rent together for larger parties.
