The Cob

7 Nights from  £434

The Cob, the largest of the three cottages, has slate flagstones in the hallway and wooden floors in the sitting-room and dining-room, with a wood-burner providing cosy warmth. There is some exposed stone and the original beams in the ceilings, and upstairs are three pretty bedrooms. A cot and highchair are available on request.

Leigh Farm cottages are set in the beautiful Teign Valley on the south eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park. Close to Bovey Tracey, known as the gateway to Dartmoor, these are peaceful cottages tucked away in their own small hidden valley. With 60 acres of farmland to explore, the Owners have a small herd of alpacas and there are often sheep grazing on their land.

The wildlife here is wonderful, particularly for bird watching with lots of less common species nesting on the land. There is a pretty water-course running through the courtyard which bubbles down past a barbecue-area to a wildlife pond.

Each cottage is quite separate and very comfortably furnished. The Cob and The Forge (2677) are side by side looking over the delightful grounds. Each has its own small sitting-out area and guests are welcome to explore the rest of the grounds but take care that dogs are on a lead around livestock. The Granary (2760) is more private, set up above the other two cottages with an individual balcony.
