Medlar Cottage

2595

2.3 miles NW of Tavistock / Sleeps 5 + 2 cots

7 Nights from £502 - £1074

Found in rolling Devon farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a mile from Dartmoor, this delightful detached property at Lower Chaddlehanger has far reaching views towards Cornwall. Medlar Cottage has a pretty sitting-out area by a small stream and inside is decorated with real flair; designer fabrics add colour, and all the furnishings are of a very high standard. The Owner tries to think of all those special touches that keep a holiday in the memory for years to come; home-cooked meals can be ordered in advance, cycling or riding can be arranged, and there is even a pillow menu ranging from luxurious Hungarian goose down to hypo-allergenic! Across the large courtyard from the Owner's other two cottages The Wool Shed (2596) and The Hay Barn (2597), Medlar Cottage is perfect for curling up in front of the wood-burner with a good book, but when you're rested and ready to get out and about, there is lots to explore in the local area. Nearby Tavistock has a great range of shops and restaurants and a busy Pannier Market.

Being on the edge of Dartmoor and close to the border with Cornwall, there is masses to do and explore: riding, golf, kayaking on the River Tamar. Or visiting the numerous interesting National Trust properties in the area, not least Buckland Abbey, former home of Sir Francis Drake which now has its own Rembrandt! Alternatively, what better than a good walk with the dog, perhaps a pub lunch somewhere and then returning to this welcoming and very comfortable cottage. Please note that all three properties can be booked together for a party of up to nine plus two cots. For pricing and availability please contact the Booking Office.
