In a tranquil spot, Fig Tree Cottage offers a haven to relax and recover from everyday life. Set in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are 28 acres of fields to explore and you can meet the farm’s Grey Face Dartmoor sheep, cattle, free-range chickens, and ponies Princess and Poppy. As well as the fields for walking the dog, nearby Dartmoor offers proper trekking.
The largest of a terrace of three, this lovely barn conversion has its own patio and is bright and contemporary inside, with under-floor heating, a wood-burner in the sitting-room, and a well-equipped kitchen. Next door is Horseshoe Cottage (2348) which is connected by a fully secured and sound proofed interconnecting door, and beyond that is a private home, all found on this tranquil farm.
Both north and south coasts can be easily reached by car, as can the Eden Project. Nearby Tavistock has a bustling pannier market, interesting shops and a couple of good restaurants. Activities close by include canoeing, cycling and the latest craze of tree surfing.
