The Shippen is the middle of the three cottages and has parking in front of the white garage. The parking is not suitable for SUVs, 4x4s or Estate cars.

We had a very enjoyable holiday at the Shippen. The location of the cottage is excellent, and it offers good views and it is situated near enough to enjoy the attractions of Boscastle Harbour within walking distance. We would certainly return, and it offers good facilities, and the advantage of being able to explore this part of North Cornwall from a very attractive location. The Wifi facilities are an added bonus....

Location location location. Fantastic location, shame about the cottage. It's in need of a serious refurbishment. It's very dull inside even on the sunniest of days you need the lights on . The sofa has been repaired with planks under the cushions which made it very uncomfortable. I know that you are warned about the beams and low roof upstairs, but unless you are under 5ft you are going to struggle. The bathroom is so small and dark with no extractor. The steem kept activating the smoke alarm and it impossible to sit on the toilet properly. This not the standard of cottage we are used to from classic cottages. ...

We're pleased that you enjoyed the position overlooking the harbour, but were sorry to see that perhaps The Shippen wasn't quite what you were looking for. It is a traditional Cornish cottage with smaller rooms and low ceilings, and we do try to show this clearly in the photos. The ceiling height is more than 5ft but you do have some sloping areas as shown in the images; if you are very tall, it is something to be aware of. The owner does refresh the decor regularly, and his preference is for a more traditional style in keeping with the cottage's age. We were unaware of there being a board under the sofa seat to add some support, but will check this out with the owner. Just lovely. The location and view were amazing. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. We are already planning a return trip.
