Mrs Venn July 2026

We had a fabulous three generation holiday at King John's Palace. Vicky met us on arrival and had made us a lovely Victoria sandwich cake and was a great host. The house had a really well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and well appointed bedrooms. The large kitchen/dining room (previously the great hall) was a great place for us all to gather. The house was well located for daily outings. Our weather was good (and not too hot) and the children had a wonderful time playing cricket and football on the large lawn around the side of the house and playing croquet in the back garden. We also love the cows and calves in the field and the children (and adults) made friends with the hounds. We would thoroughly recommend! It was perfect for a getaway with the extended family and friends to celebrate a 40th Birthday.

Stunning house and setting. Absolutely perfect!

Mrs O'Connor October 2025

Vicky was really helpful and arranged to meet us on arrival. The ‘cottage’ is huge, comfortable, warm as it cools off at the end of October, with historical interest and great facilities that suited our multi-generation family group. We really appreciated being able to take three dogs. The gardens were great and I’d love to return in the summer when we could make use of them. The beds were really comfortable with good quality bedding, and the kitchen very well equipped. Cooking on an aga took some getting used to! The space meant we all had room to do our own thing, whilst also being together. The house is perfect for hide and seek!...
