The owners of the Engine House were excellent hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay a good one. For example, when we arrived on the Saturday there was unfortunately a power cut so cooking was not possible. However Steve, our host, offered to drive to the local Chinese for a take away which we were happy to accept. Dinner was duly delivered (and was very good) and Steve refused to accept our offer of payment for it which was very much appreciated. Fantastic location, good outlook and pleasant, appropriately equipped cottage. Friendly and very helpful host who is “there if you need him” but not intrusive. The Engine House has more of a “sunny, welcoming vibe” than I had initially anticipated from the Classic photographs – which I felt did not entirely do the actual experience of the cottage justice. And, although we were not lucky with the weather during our stay, this resulted overall in a very happy and relaxing holiday. I think that other Classic customers would feel the same. One point to note is that the water supply to properties in this area of the Roseland is somewhat constrained such that it is not really possible for one person to run a bath in the upstairs bathroom whilst another has a shower in the downstairs bathroom. This limits the utility of having two bathrooms to some degree. Otherwise, a strongly recommended holiday destination. ...

We had a lovely time in this area of Cornwall . The view from the property is stunning and the surrounding gardens were beautiful. Steve the host welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the property and was helpful but not intrusive. The property is beautifully furnished and we had a peaceful stay and relaxing holiday. The view from the front windows is spectacular!!! This is an amazing place to stay if you enjoy walking, the cliff path was across the road, barely a few hundred yards away. The Place ferry, only a 15 minute walk away, goes to St Mawes from which we then hopped on a ferry to Falmouth and then another to Malpas….a fabulous day out! The bed was comfortable, the water for showers was hot and the whole place beautifully furnished. Steve and Jude welcomed us as soon as we arrived after which Steve gave us a comprehensive tour of the property and how to use the equipment. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this lovely accommodation wholeheartedly. ...
