Briar Lea is a fabulous holiday cottage. It’s well equipped, with good quality furniture. The garden was full of birdsong, as there is an old wooded valley behind the house. The views of the sea from the front of the house were fabulous. Fylingdale is a great little village with 2 shops in it, which are open for long hours. It’s an easy walk to Robin Hood’s Bay, which is truly quaint. We had a great time there and hope to go back again next year....

We spent our Christmas break at Briar Lea, and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The cottage was warm and comfortable, and so well-equipped. The owners have thought of everything you might need and provided it, even a Christmas tree and a bottle of fizz, which was much appreciated. The house has a nice sea view, and is in a great location for exploring the area, by foot, bus or car. There is an hourly bus into Whitby from the village. We loved it, and hope to return one day....

We never have stayed in a holiday cottage which is such exceptional equipped. Especially the kitchen! I love cooking and I found everything what I needed without improvising! The huge double door fridge with a 3 drawer freezer is a highlight! We also loved the most comfortable beds! We highly recommend Briar Lea and hope we can come back again in future. ...
