Sitting at the mouth of the river is Fowey on one side and Polruan on the other.
This stretch of coastline offers gentle waters and soft sandy beaches.
The historic house, gardens and parkland at Lanhydrock is well worth a visit (National Trust).
Historic Charlestown is a little further down the coast.

This is a lovely spacious and well presented house in a stunning location. It is well furnished and decorated and very comfortable with fabulous views. The village of Golant is delightful with an excellent pub. Its location is a little challenging but this only enhances its special nature as the effort is well rewarded by the beautiful surroundings and environment. We didn’t want to leave. Many thanks....

We spent a week on June at River View Terrace and had the most gorgeous weather. We could sit on the terrace and look down on the river and the teal changes for ages. The place is well equipped and very comfortable. If you love to cook you will find everything you need. The master bedroom is spacious, light and has the most stunning view. The pub is only yards away and very friendly and welcoming with wonderful food and impromptu live music on Sunday. The drive up to the cottage is challenging with very narrow roads and gates, which were also overgrown. ...

The property has excellent views over the river Fowey. The property has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. A word of advice, if you are not a confident driver, the roads in Cornwall are very narrow and the last 100 yards are even more narrow, so if you have a large vehicle access may be an issue. ...

We had a wonderful stay at River View Terrace, Golant. The property is located in picturesque Golant, nr. Fowey, with easy road access to places of interest in and around Cornwall. Stunning views from the property terrace/windows over the River Fowey and harbour. For stargazers, on some nights the stars were huge and felt close enough to reach for! A comfortable, spacious, character residence ideal for couples/families or groups. The Fisherman's Arms riverside pub served delicious food with a warm welcome from the proprietor/chef and team. Thank you for a great break, we felt sad to leave - the sign of a good holiday. Highly recommend....
