A lovely little cottage, in a great location.

Mrs Williams March 2025

Lovely cwtchy cottage and in a great location to easily explore Devon and Cornwall. St Nectans church was a gem, so magnificent and a few metres walk away.

Mrs Davies February 2025

Vanstones is a very pretty cottage with a lovely back garden, fully enclosed and suitable for our Boxer dog. Perfect location, walkable distance to the coast with the fantastic views at Hartland Quay. The cottage did have some negative points as it wasn’t as clean as we would have expected, with us having to wipe around the kitchen and rinse the bath prior to use. Minor inconvenience on arrival but not ideal. The TV is listed as a smart TV however it’s very old and streaming apps can’t be updated and therefore did not work. Whilst may not be an issue for some, we do like to watch movies in the evening and the weather was awful one day so we ended up having to purchase a firestick as we didn’t come prepared with any books etc to occupy us. An indoor door mat could do with being provided because as the weather was wet, it meant that socks got very dirty and damp due to having to walk through the small entrance to get to the bathroom. Slippers are a must as stone floors downstairs were very cold and not clean. All above are fairly minor issues on their own but did add up to the feeling that it wasn’t quite up to scratch compared to other properties we have stayed in. It’s a shame as the cottage has so much potential. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but more due to the location more than the cottage itself. ...

We have to agree,Vanstones really is the most beautiful cottage, and we're delighted that the garden proved a hit with your dog. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with some aspects of the cleanliness and had trouble with the TV. Had we known, we would've loved to help to get your holiday back on track. We have since followed this up with the owners and housekeeping team to ensure that these areas are addressed, and we're pleased to report that the TV is now fully working. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay overall and hope you enjoyed exploring the beautiful local area. Julie. Customer Support ...

Mr Warren September 2024

The cottage is grade 2 listed but was appointed with modern appliances but still retained its historic charm cosy warm and very comfortable, the bed especially so .The surrounding area is stunning and if you are prepared to travel there are plenty of places to visit and explore .At night it is very quiet and as I said earlier the beds a very comfortable so after a long day sight seeing you will definitely get a good night's rest ...
