Perfect little hideaway, a real hidden gem but close enough by car to go on some fantastic walks and see the best of West Sussex. The Hut was tastefully furnished/decorated, clean and well equipped. The outside seating area with log burner is first class. Highly recommended. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a fabulous two night stay in Douglas Fir. From start to finish we loved everything about this charming shepherds hut. It was exceptionally clean, with all the features you could ask for packed in. The bed is comfortable, the shower (considering the space) is a dream and the kitchen is well stocked so you could easily make yourself a lovely meal. A highlight for us was a nature walk on one of the nearby recommended paths, followed by an evening spent in front of the fire. The owner, Lizzy was so gracious and helpful, we can’t thank her enough.

Very pretty setting and nice decor and personal touches in the hut. Still quite private considering the next hut is quite close-by.

Some improvements are recommended to make the stay more comfortable like a fan as it was over 30 degrees when we stayed and there is only one window you can open in the whole hut (which is in the bathroom). The heat woke us up by 5am each morning.

The bed had a very soft and memory foam mattress which caved in and was uncomfortable.

Small improvements would have definitely changed our impression of the place.
