Turner Hall is a beautiful property perfectly located near Hay Tor. It is equipped with anything you could need and was very clean. It was easy to book and to check in. Wi-Fi was strong and consistent. The beds were all comfortable. We loved everything about it....

Had a lovely week away at Turner Hall with my partner & family. Dartmoor national park literally on your doorstep for lots of lovely walks and seeing the roaming sheep, cows and ponies. Lots to see and do around the area and pretty much within 1/2 hour drive. Would definitely recommend a visit to castle Drogo, Kent caverns and Paignton Zoo. Property itself is lovely and cosy and you feel tucked away to have some peace and tranquillity. Nearest town is Bovey Tracey for local shops and amenities. Will be back again soon. ???? ...

We stayed at turner hall as a party of 8 adults for 4 nights as a birthday celebration. We were impressed by the en-suites with each room and the option of having privacy as well as the lovely communal kitchen and living space. Turner hall was absolutely spotless throughout and the kitchen was well equipped. We really enjoyed cooking together and eating around the enormous dining table. The locations is fabulous with a number of beautiful walks from the door step and two great pubs within walking distance (I’d recommend booking in advance for Tinpickle and Rhum, the food is delicious and good value). The accommodation is surrounded by beautiful woodland and feels very private, which is surprising given its location on the open moorland. We loved the wood fired hot tub by the stream, although it took a long time to get it up to temperature. 4 hours was recommended but it took us over the course of 24 hours, something to bear in mind if the hot tub is a deciding factor for your trip! My only niggle is that the beds are incredibly firm. It is of course personal preference but most of our party mentioned this. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turner Hall and were all quite sad to be leaving. I’d book again in a heartbeat (and hope to in the near future!) ...

Mrs Hutton September 2025

We have just had a wonderful long weekend at Turner Hall and loved this magical place! It was even better than we had expected from the online photos, the layout, and the four ensuite bedrooms were perfect for our group. It felt so secluded and safe, hidden away in this private woodland glade, we almost could have been in a treehouse, surrounded by greenery, but with the moor just on our doorstep for wonderful walks. There wasn't time this visit to use the hot tub, but we would love to come back and stay for longer. We walked to the Rock Inn and had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch, finishing with pudding and coffee in the pub garden at the end of September....

A beautiful, spacious, well equipped property in a lovely location. Although there is an activity centre next door, the cottage feels very private. Especially enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub although it took a few hours to warm up. We definitely plan to return one day. ...
