The Cowshed is a perfect getaway retreat, very clean and comfortable, and in a very peaceful location. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but it is a three or four minute drive to big Tesco and Lidl stores. There are many attractions within a short drive, including the west Dorset and East Devon coastal resorts. The property includes a private courtyard where you can enjoy evening sunsets. It is one of the best-equipped holiday cottages we have stayed in, and the owners were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. Within a mile or so there is Chard Reservoir, perfect for a walk even if you don’t have a dog. Several nice country pubs within a few miles. If you want a week in the country with amenities within a few minutes drive, in a scenic part of Somerset, I can’t think of anywhere better...

We really enjoyed our stay in The Cowshed. A very comfortable and spacious cottage which has been well equipped to a high standard. Nice to be able to spread out with ease. Very dog friendly and secure garden. Easy to take the dog out for short early morning / late evening walks. Plenty of things to do nearby on the coast and inland....

The Cowshed was a perfect place to have a relaxing week away. The beds were super comfortable, everything was beautifully decorated and we had everything we needed to be able to cook in the evening after a day sightseeing. We loved the sunny and quiet outdoor space to sit in, the views were beautiful. We had great days out at Forde Abbey and Gardens, Lyme Regis and Montacute House and Gardens and great shopping at Clarks Village, Street. The area is beautiful, lots of quaint villages and rolling hills, will definitely return to explore a bit more. Many thanks to Fiona for sharing her lovely property with us....
