Coastguard Cottage is a gem. Small, but perfectly formed, it is beautifully positioned at the entrance to Mousehole with incredible views of the harbour and out to sea. The cottage was equipped well in the kitchen with everything you could want. The beds were fitted with lovely bedlinen, but I found the master bed unsupportively soft. Of course this maybe fine for other people’s taste. The location to the water and Mousehole village was excellent, however if you have luggage as an international traveller, there is little room inside the cottage to accommodate this. The issues I had with this cottage were the access to the cottage, and the lack of reception. Neither had been described well in the details page. Access was either, via two sets of very steep stairs up a gravel pathway to the main road, or through a very narrow gravel pathway on a slope, to the lower level of the village. If you have suitcases it is extremely difficult to accomplish this access, especially if you are not young or super fit, or are a solo traveller. Regarding wifi coverage, detail and delivery was absolutely lacking. Yes I have the latest 5g phone and good IT knowledge, but this did not help resolve the problem of lack of connection that should have been honestly stated in the advertising. Mousehole generally, but this cottage especially have poor to little connection. I had assumed that I would be advised of the router details on the day of my arrival. This didn’t happen as there was in fact no router. I find this an unforgivable error in this property, communication with the outside is a necessity, not a luxury. For this not to be stated, and explicitly advertised as ‘no router, and no reliability of satellite connection’ is dishonest in my opinion. I would urge Coastal Cottages to have a complete overhaul of the cottage description, to provide potential custom an honest description. If you are of course looking for a property, as I describe without access to communications, then you will be in heaven. Personally I would not return, and sadly I’m left doubting Coastal Cottages ability to verify each property’s details. We highly recommend this cottage. The location was excellent and it is on the right side of the village for parking on the road in from Newlyn out of season which meant we did not have to pay for parking. There is no road outside either which would be the case for other holiday rentals in Mousehole. It was such comfortable cottage, really cosy and the view of the harbour from the upstairs bedroom was gorgeous. The welcome hamper was a treat! And Mousehole is wonderful! Thank you....

We had the perfect week away. Quiet location and lovely to hear the sea. The front garden is a little sun trap where we could sit with our morning coffee, lunches and a few evening meals too. Sun all day and sheltered from the wind. The welcome hamper was amazing and full of treats. We relaxed instantly in the cosy cottage which was small but had everything we could need. We loved being able to stroll into the village with its pretty shops and cafes, and having the beach so close. The secret garden was another bonus but we didn’t need to use it much as the little area infront of the cottage was picture perfect....
