The Thatched Cottage

The Thatched Cottage is an exceptional accommodation and we felt very lucky to have spent time there. Our host, Gillian, provided a lovely welcome package including homemade scones and all the extras! She also answered all questions we had, particularly about the local area. The Cottage info book is superb and provided helpful details about all aspects of the cottage and local area. The Cottage is truly a beautifully decorated environment. The artwork is varied and reflects the talents of many Devon artists. The floral displays were also delightful. We found the location was very good for our lifestyle choices which included hiking, and walking into town to shop. We would return, without hesitation, and recommend the Thatched Cottage as a superb home away from home!...

Perfect, beautiful cottage. Plenty of room for 5 of us and 2 dogs. Very well equipped with many thoughtful touches. Great location for exploring surrounding beaches and countryside.

Fantastic stay at The Thatched Cottage. Location good for visiting beaches and attractions with grandchildren, plus close enough to Barnstaple for supermarkets and EV charging points. The enclosed garden was great for the children to play in and for a family BBQ. We would happily consider booking again....

The Thatched cottage is an impressive sight on arrival! The owners have done a great job in making the cottage very pleasing with the decor and homely touches. The cottage is well equipped with everything you will need and more besides. We appreciated the welcoming treats left for us too. The location was good for visiting the coast locally also close for local shops. We also enjoyed longer trips across the North Devon coast, Exmoor, Somerset, South Devon and Cornwall!...

The Thatched Cottage was just perfect in every way for us! The location is great, you can walk along the lanes to the local pub or along the main roads & parklands in to Barnstaple. You feel like you are in the middle of the countryside yet have everything you need within walking distance. The cottage was comfortable & well stocked with everything you could possibly think of - but usually forget to pack! It was ideal for us as a family of 5 adults & 2 dogs but equally welcoming & practical for a families with young children or groups of couples. A gem of a find! ...
