Sonoma Lodge

Peaceful stay, beautiful views of Dartmoor and sunsets from the decking. It's worth persevering down the (often) narrow lanes to reach a beach, there are plenty to choose from, or climb up to a Tor, stretch your legs, experience amazing views and meet the ponies. Good choice of pubs nearby, farm shops too. Clean and comfortable lodge to return to. Well equipped, plenty of light in the living area with seating options inside and out, good size bedrooms and large ensuite (bath in the bathroom as well). The lodge is on a small quiet site. Great dog exercise field adjacent to the touring field to use which was a huge help during this hot spell to take our dog to early morning and late evenings. Roughly half an hour by car, give or take single lane hold ups, to the nearest coast and up to the edge of the moors. Well stocked and friendly staffed petrol station less than a mile away for top up groceries. ...

Lovely lodge, very comfortable, clean and well equipped with great view.

We found the description of the cottage to be spot on - no surprises.

We found Sonoma Lodge to be a superbly styled and well appointed holiday cottage, in a perfect location and setting for our needs. As I continued my charity walk around the South Devon section of the Coastal path from Hope Cove to Dartmouth, the location of Sonoma Lodge meant we were within an easy drive of the SWCP each day. The cottage was really well equipped making self catering a real joy and the standards of cleanliness were very high. The property was stylishly decorated, with furnishings and fittings of good quality with a lovely private decked area outside and wonderful views/sunsets to enjoy, especially in the afternoon and evenings on our return from a long day of walking. We found the WIFI to be excellent which made our daily planning easy and with the owners attention to detail, leaving little to chance, our holiday here was very enjoyable....

We found the lodge more than lived up to our expectations. The place was well equipped, spotlessly clean and welcoming, the vase of fresh flowers and box of biscuits on our arrival was a nice touch. The lodge had spectacular views across farmland to the hills of Dartmoor. Very quiet and peaceful location, the clear starry skies and the hoot of owls outside the lodge was idyllic. We really enjoyed the lodge,indeed we negotiated with the company to extend our stay a few extra days and intend to return for longer next year. We would thoroughly recommend both the venue but also the excellent service we received from the company, especially the help desk who couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect.
